Hi,
My period will be due in 5 days from tomorrow and before I test I want to know everyones opinions on 6 day early tests before I take one. Are they accurate? Should I get disheartened if I get a negative result? I have a first response one as I've read they're more accurate than clearblue. I should be 8 days past ovulation if my period tracker is accurate, my cycle is 35 days long

I've already driven myself mad by taking tests today and yesterday morning (6dpo and 7dpo) which I know is too early to test but I couldn't help it 😂 I just feel that I'll get so disappointed if it isn't positive tomorrow morning, is 8dpo still too early to test?

I also tested at 6 and 7dpo so no judgement here 🤣 you know it'll most likely be negative but your brain tells you to do it anyway lol.
The 6 day early tests are reliable as I've seen so many getting a bfp at 7 and 8dpo but that just means they implanted early. Implantation occurs between 6-12dpo so that's why they say test after a missed period.. impossible! Lol.
I got the faintest of faint lines at 10dpo and even then you had to really look for it, so personally I'd wait and stick to the cheapies to save you money. I used to One Step ones from Amazon. They're sensitive at 10miu so you'll get an earlier result than normal cheapies that are 25miu.
If you really can't wait and do buy an early detection one, go for a red dye test like First Response. Clear Blue are terrible for evap lines. Baby dust to you 😁✨️

I've also tested on 8DPO with first response and got negatives then followed by faint line by 10 DPO. I know how impossible it is but try and wait until at least 10 at least then it will be more accurate x

We're very accurate for me this pregnancy very clear BFP at 8dpo. This was followed the same day by a clear blue digital stating pregnant 1-2 weeks. The most I was was 8dpo so dates weren't out. Ive compared the lines 10 days apart on one of the photos. If it's there it's there. All depends when implantation happens. It was very late evening 6dpo going into 7dpoand was very uncomfortable and quite painful which was a new one for me. Never had that before with my other pregnancies.

I think those tests are misleading. What does 6 days before period mean? Not everyone has the same luteal phase. Person A would be 10dpo, person B is 4dpo. Means, person B couldn't even have implantation yet.
Are they accurate? Yes, in terms of, they will detect possible hcg that soon. But they can't detect a pregnancy that technically doesn't exist yet.

StellaGibs · 28/01/2022 15:58

I used them for my 4 pregnancies. One was a chemical, strong positives that faded to negative over a week. Other three turned into babies. They definitely work.

BiscuitLover3678 · 28/01/2022 18:54

For my previous baby I get a strong line about 11 dpo. I have mixed views about them though as obviously if they don’t show any you still keep going and keep testing when Af is due so can cost a lot!

BiscuitLover3678 · 28/01/2022 18:55

And I think I implanted early last time which is why it showed up so soon

twomumsonebump · 28/01/2022 18:58

Absolutely not accurate for me! Didn't get a positive test until 14dpo. Tested from day 10 and there wasn't even a faint line until day 14!

PiesNotGuys · 28/01/2022 18:59

I got a positive on one of those tests you can get on Amazon which are about a fiver for 20, at 8dpo, which did in fact turn into a baby.

But I only poas once for each pregnancy, actually I tell a lie I poas twice for the second pregnancy and both tests were negative, actually never ever got a positive for that pregnancy.

Good luck op

Take another in 2 days. If it is still there, do another 48 hours after. If the line gets stronger contact your local EPU they won't see you until 6 weeks though and will tell you take another test at 6 weeks anf if its positive they will see you then. Unfortunately it could of been a CP pregnancy. These are more common than people probably realise and because of the wonderful FRER it will pick them up. I've had them to.
Kelly112 · 08/04/2023 12:46

I've had 2 negative tests but have multiple symptoms of pregnancy? Nausea first thing in morning, headaches, weird smells, bloating, cramps 😑 im only 3 days past ovulation day, should I wait 1 more week before another test or could it just be something else

PickledScrump · 08/04/2023 15:43

@Kelly112 implantation takes between 6-12 days after ovulation. Then it takes a few days for hcg to rise enough to show on a test and to be strong enough to cause symptoms. So there is no way you could be pregnant yet or having symptoms caused by pregnancy. Realistically the earliest you should test is 10 dpo but better to wait as close to when your period is due as you can. Hope you get your positive.
