Cycle Day 1... Giving SMEP a go this month.

Cycle day 1.... Definitely the most depressing day of the month.
This is cycle 9 for us and I've found this one tough as there were a few pregnancy announcements the past few weeks in our friend circle 😢

Usually we just try to do it every other day during the fertile window but this month we are going with the SMEP... Anyone else had success with this method?x

Hi thought I'd join if that's ok as I'm going to try the SMEP method this month too, I'm on cycle day 13 but due to an under active tyroid I have longer cycles and don't ovulate till usually cycle day 30-36 which is soo annoying.
I've heard really positive stories about the SMEP method so it would be nice to see if it's worked for people on here.
I'm nearly a year in with 1 mc in November so I'm getting a little frustrated now Sad

Hey :) I also have thryoid problems. Had graves disease years ago and got treatment and assumed all was fine but I've got an appointment next week with my GP to review it.

Yeah fingers crossed SMEP works for both of us!x

I'm hoping the recent change with my levo thyroxine works and keeps my cycle normal. Had Christmas off from trying so this is a fresh start this year but heard so much about SMEP can't harm giving it ago.
Fingers crossed for us both xx

@Arly90 hello, my cycle is a little all over my pre mom app has said I've peaked due to the tests but I don't feel like I've ovulated non of the usual signs so I'm still testing.
I think after the miscarriage my cycles are a little off ☹️ how are you doing? X

Arly90 · 27/01/2022 23:02

Aw really. I find it so hard to know when I'm ovulating. Been going well with the SMEP then this afternoon I got my positive ovulation but we DTD last night so I don't know if we should try tonight or tomorrow night.. Don't think we will mange 3 nights in a row 🙈
Getting bloods taken tomorrow for my thryoid so maybe that's the cause 🙈

@Arly90 oh good! Mines been abit all over I'm just trying to go by my usual body signs and the premom app. I think I've hit peak today and we dtd last night tonight and plan to tomorrow I hope!
It's hard isn't it! Fingers crossed it's our month 🤞🏼🤞🏼 do you use ovulation strips or do you usually know when your ovulating?
Xx

Every month I start with a plan and then always freak out that I've missed the "perfect" day 😂

Yeah I've been doing OPKs for months now and this month started to track my temp. So today was my second day of a temp rise... I'm at the stage of thinking everything is wrong so was worried I wasn't ovulating 🙈

How are you tracking?x

CRA994 · 30/01/2022 15:55

I'm exactly the same I say to my other half right we are doing this this and this and when it comes to it if anything gets in the way I always assume im out and missed my chance!
I've also been using opks a while, because im irregular I used to different brands to confirm😂 and this month I've been temping also. I believe tomorrow is my last day to dtd to cover as many days as I can.
I was really worried I wasn't ovulating aswell but just turned out I was ovulating a lot later than I thought so first 6 months we just missed it completely. It's getting tiring. Xx

CRA994 · 05/02/2022 08:59

@Arly90 how are you getting on?? X

Arly90 · 05/02/2022 09:03

Yeah im at the stage of always thinking the worst.

Im doing okay. On 8DPO now. Had a steady temp rise all week with a very slight drop today. But I've got a killer heacahe and some cramps which is usual the week before my period 😭
It's a very frustrating process. I want time to hurry up so I know but also dreading AF arriving 🙈 x

@Arly90 aw it's such a stressful two weeks isn't it, I'm just 6dpo really wanting to test just to know. I've had some cramping last night and this morning but nothing too noticeable I only really noticed as I was in bed doing nothing.
When will you be testing? I really am so bad for wanting to test early!
Hoping it's our month x

Arly90 · 06/02/2022 09:27

So after a slight BBT temp yesterday I had a massive rise today so no idea what's going on. But still got the headache and mild cramps.
Im gonna hold off testing till Wednesday if I can. So 12DPO... Its so hard though!

@Arly90 fingers crossed for you! I hope you get your BFP.
I've got abit of a dull back ache and been tired but only 6dpo so who knows x
