Faint positive 3 months after giving birth

Is it possible to have left over hormone 3 months after giving birth to cause a very faint positive pregnancy test?

As far as I know the hcg hormone only remains for 5/6 weeks post birth so at 3 months it's quite probably a new pregnancy?

MsMeNz · 12/01/2022 21:11

Yeah I got pregnant around that time after my first, 13 months between mine.

Garman · 12/01/2022 21:16

Nope. Have you had unprotected sex since the birth?

ParentalGuidances · 13/01/2022 11:35

Hi all

Sex has always been protected, been feeling off since Monday so did a test last night as my symptoms mimicked exactly how I felt in my pregnancy. Very faint line can be seen but a camera wouldn’t pick it up, my partner cannot see it either. It wasn’t a faulty test because I did two.

Wondering if hormones from previous pregnancy are still lurking about or if this is the start of a new one.

I took a period on 29 December, lasted 5 days and was a heavy bleed.

Test again in a week.

FelicityBob · 13/01/2022 11:53

Nope not possible Flowers

Diggersaursarethebest · 13/01/2022 11:54

If you had a period on the 29th of December it’s unlikely you’d be pregnant yet. Wait two weeks to test maybe. You could be ovulating and that’s what’s making you feel different.

Diggersaursarethebest · 13/01/2022 11:55

Also have you tried a Covid test ? You could just be coming down with something.

Stella92 · 13/01/2022 12:15

Hi everyone I was just wondering if someone could give me their opinion. I just did 2 first response tests ( yesterday and today mid morning ) and both have a really faint positive line. A clear blue digital came back negative. My baby girl is 13 months old and I’ve only had one period since having her as I’ve been breastfeeding! Mmm also my last period was like 45 days ago! Surely if I were pregnant the line would be darker by now?! I’m so confused…!!

Bundaberg84 · 13/01/2022 12:55

@ParentalGuidances can you try another test, as in, another brand?

@Stella92 It doesn't really matter when your last period was, it's when you ovulated that counds. And as I don't think you're tracking, it's totally possible you ovulated late that cycle. Also, first response tests are more sensitive than the regular cb digital ones - they will take a few days later to pick hcg up.

ParentalGuidances · 13/01/2022 13:22

I understand it’s too early to be pregnant if my bleed was a period but I’m just thinking what if it wasn’t a period? Thanks all I’ll test again and update

@bunderberg84 thank you for your reply. I actually just started bleeding !! So I suppose it was a ‘false positive’.

ParentalGuidances · 16/01/2022 23:33

Just to update in case anyone stumbles across this thread in the future who are in a similar situation - I continued to test and they were 100% negatives. The two tests I done where there was a very faint second line visible must’ve just been evaps. So not pregnant.
