Taking folic acid whilst on the pill

Hi lovely people. I want to start ttc next month but I am currently taking the mini pill cerazette. Can I start taking folic acid straight from now a month before or do I need to wait until I stop taking cerazette?

You can, and some sources would say should, take folic acid at any time. I've read that ideally you ought to start three months before TTC.

Yes I took it for the recommended time leading up to coming off the pill just in case I fell pregnant straight away. I think 3 months as pp mentions?
I believe it occurs naturally in some foods though not at the levels recommended hence the supplements so you may already have small amounts in system.
