So I went for an early scan today at 6 weeks 5 days and they could see baby heartbeat and said everything looks fine but never told me the Beats per minute and everyone is discussing how strong their babies heartbeats are and I can't :( I have checked on all scan photos and overview nothing on them! Is it normal not to be told BPM this early???

Early Scan doctor never told me BPM??

I’ve never heard of this, I think the midwife mentioned BPM at 12 week scan but in a way to write it on her notes not to tell me

It’s quite unusual to have a scan this early anyway, let alone to know tiny details so please try not to worry. Congrats.

Put it this way OP - if the BPM were not strong/exactly as expected, you would have DEFINITELY been told. Even picking up a heartbeat that early isn’t always guaranteed. I think you’re worrying about nothing.

FWIW, with DS1 I had two early private scans and I think they did put a number on the heartbeat but it went one ear and out of the other. Definitely was never mentioned at my NHS scans.

Think I am just overthinking it! Thankyou :)

I went to a top clinic , I’ve never been told bpm on any scam .they didn’t have that info. They would just tell me if it looked good or not. I don’t think, in all my pregnancies, any clinic has provided that info!
