BBT Dips in Luteal Phase - Advice Please!

Hey Ladies,

I'm new to Mumsnet and this is my first time TTC.

Been going through the dreaded TWW and noticed my bbt temps keep dropping then rising...anyone have any advice?

FF identified ovulation date as day 16 but came up as inconclusive when I inputted my temp drop this morning - I've attached pic of chart.

Only advice I can give is to make sure you're tempting at the same time every day. I've not tracked bbt since my miscarriage but I'm sure the broken lines mean you've tempt at a different time. Also, make sure you do it before you get out of bed. I used to keep my thermometer in my bedside table. When you get up and walk around your temp goes up. If you're temping at different times then your chart is likely to be up and down. This is all I can think of lol

Okay maybe I'm talking rubbish 😅 this was mine previously and lead to a bfp.
I notice your chart hasn't tracked ovulation though

I would keep acting fertile. For ovulation to be confirmed you need a clear and steady temp rise. In your case either you haven't ovulated yet or like PP said you're not doing BBT quite right (it is v difficult) and that's throwing your chart. Keep temping first thing, same time every day if you can, before you move or speak, but also keep having sex until you see a clear and sustained rise in temp. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your advice ladies! I've been temping for a few years (to avoid pregnancy previously!) so I'm pretty disciplined with taking my temp at the same time after and before doing anything. That's why I thought this was a bit strange as usually my luteal phase shows a clear temp increase and drop on 1st day of period. The app had previously detected my ovulation day as day 16 but removed it after this morning's temp drop.

Keep everything crossed for me! Let's see what tomorrow's temp reading brings...
