I'm so confused

Do you ovulate at the start of your surge so the tests turning positive getting darker OR do you ovulate after your peak opk.

I got My peak CD17 at 8am but I also did another before that at 5am and it was almost a peak. So my surge had potentially been rising late CD16 or early hours CD17. I forgot to do one late CD16 but at dinner it was slightly darker than the morning time opk so obviously the surge had started to kick in CD16.

I hope that makes sense.

My premom chart... hoping I dtd at the right time. Really gutted I didn't do it CD15 now.

To me the surge IS the peak - it's the only thing to focus on. So you ovulate 12-36 h after a peak reading :)

@Jayjane79 I also find this confusing. If you only test once a day, hypothetically , you could be testing towards the end of the surge and therefore be v close to releasing the egg. I guess some would say it shouldn’t matter but I think maybe if the sperm isn’t the best and doesn’t stay alive as long as the super strength ‘5 day’ sperm then it does matter…. I could be wrong 😂, it’s a minefield and so easy to become obsessed with these charts. As long as you’re having sex regularly in that week where you’re deemed most fertile, it shouldn’t matter and all these tests shouldn’t be necessary! X

You will ovulate roughly 12-36 hours after the onset of your peak
Then eggy lives for roughly 12 hours

I'm just so confused I've read last night you ovulate 10-12 hours from the peak and rought 36 hours from the start of the surge. I suppose this is the reason we are suppose to test twice a day to catch it rising. I was always under the impression it was 24-48 hours after the peak, its well and truly over by then 🙈 thank you ladies.

You could be right x Statistics give higher pregnancy rates from DTD on peak day rather than ovulation day

I had a MC last month so shocked to have ovulated soon after at CD18 from when the bleeding started. I'd love a BFP for Christmas.
