Period 2 days late but lots of negative tests - can breastfeeding affect results?

Hi guys. So I am quite confused. I'm still breastfeeding my 15 mo but my periods have been back since 4mo pp and have been very regular since May 2021. I usually get my period on day 27 but now on day 29 and no sign.

We decided to ttc this cycle although in a 'relaxed' way so only ended up having sex twice. My ovulation was predicted for cycle day 15 and we DTD on day 11 and day 14. I kept having EWCM until day 16 so I'm thinking perhaps I didn't ovulate on day 15 as predicted.

Anyway, I've now done a few tests but all have come back negative, even though I had cramping last Thurs and Fri, which is not usual for me - I normally only cramp on the day my period arrives. My cervix also feels high and soft and have had a bit of creamy CM. I did cramp early when falling pregnant with my daughter though.

When I fell pregnant with first baby I tested at 10dpo and it came back positive - although I did know for sure what day I ovulated that time, as I was charting my temp. This month it's a little unclear the exact day.

Wondering if perhaps breastfeeding may be contributing to bringing up false negatives... I read that it can dilute HCG even more as lots of your fluids are coming out of you with BM and that prolactin can interfere with the tests. I've also read it makes no diff! Wondering if anyone has had an experience of this? Or perhaps I just ovulated late so either am no pregnant or it's still too early to say...

Such a guessing game! Any thoughts/ comments welcome...
