Miscarriage no period but now pregnant?? Help??

ASmithxoxox · 03/12/2021 07:06

Looking for a bit of advice...
I had a miscarriage around 8 weeks ago, I've not had a period since the miscarriage bleeding stopped.
I've been having really sore boobs for the past few weeks, put it down to PMS. As it hasn't yet arrived and after something my mum said, I thought I'd take a cheapy test and bam 👀 it showed positive instantly ...
I am so shocked and confused!
Tbh, I didn't even know this could happen haha and I have no idea how far along I would now be (line is pretty strong but I'd only think I'd be a few weeks).

Congratulations! How wonderful, you must be so thrilled!

You ovulate before a period. So you're fertile before a period, not after. You have a period because you ovulated, not the other way around.

ASmithxoxox · 03/12/2021 07:20

@bedheadedzombie I am shocked at the moment and concerned as I've had 2 miscarriages but also I get married next year so if all goes well, this may change things hahah 😂

@bedheadedzombie thank you though!! I don't think it's sunk in yet haha

Please don't think I'm trying to be negative, but did you have a negative test after your miscarriage? I was still getting positive tests 6 weeks after mine due to complications and it being incomplete. But they certainly wernt that strong so my fingers are completely crossed for you! Grin

ASmithxoxox · 03/12/2021 07:39

@Romanticrights what were the complications if you don't mind me asking?
I didn't ever take another test but I absolutely know 100% that it was complete and my tests were so weak/ not really visible on this kind of test last time either

Can you gets bloods / scan at a local early pregnancy unit ? That would confirm things / give you an idea of dates. Fingers crossed all goes well x

AwkwardPaws27 · 03/12/2021 10:01

Call your EPAU and see if they'll scan you (mine did as I had 3 MCs and no period between last one and this pregnancy). Just to rule out retained tissue as you didn't have a negative test.
If not your GP may arrange an early dating scan.
I didn't have a period in-between (but had a negative blood test) and am now 14 weeks.

ASmithxoxox · 03/12/2021 11:19

Have booked a blood test for tomorrow!

LittleMysSister · 03/12/2021 11:55

@ASmithxoxox Let us know how you get on :) Hopefully good news, those lines are strong.

I'm interested as I had an early MC at the start of Nov but have had a positive OPK since and been DTD. I have had negative cheapie strip tests since the MC but tbh I didn't get positives on those when I was pregnant either, only on the more expensive plastic tests. Had a negative blood test and scan from EPU though.

Don't know when to expect a period so I will wait until 4 weeks post MC and do a test every few days just in case I guess.

ASmithxoxox · 03/12/2021 12:48

@LittleMysSister I will do!! Fingers crossed for you too!
I've just taken a Clear Blue digital out of curiosity and it's come up 3+ 😱 I've never had one of those before!

Just got back from my hospital appointment, bloods and obs taken - just waiting for blood results. Spoke to the doctor, she said it's definitely a new pregnancy. Hoping to get a scan booked in for the next few days 🤞🏻

Wow congratulations. I've read your far more fertile the first 3 months after a pregnancy whether it ended in a miscarriage or birth. I've just finished bleeding from my MC and had a negative opk yesterday and today today being classed as CD1. I have no intentions of leaving it a cycle like advised so Id love be in your position next month 😁 fingers crossed lol. Please keep us posted on your pregnancy.

ASmithxoxox · 05/12/2021 10:34

@Jayjane79 since I've read up on it yes it seems to be the case! Haha. Good luck to you 🤞🏻
I've heard back from the hospital this morning, my bloods came back at 35,000 HCG which is way able the 1,500 to get me in for a scan so I'm sat waiting for a scan now!

How exciting, all the best with the pregnancy. 35000 is a good high number. I think you will have become pregnant straight away. People tend yo ovulate around 2/3 weeks from the start of a MC providing there are no complications and HCG has hit below a certain level.

ASmithxoxox · 05/12/2021 11:47

@Jayjane79 Scan done, I'm measuring at 7 weeks 😱 so yeah pretty much what you said x

Wow super news, congratulations and all the best with the rest of the pregnancy. Wish me luck lol. I'm going to try the smep method it was designed for ladies after miscarriage.

Nikki305 · 05/12/2021 11:56

Amazing news, congratulations!

NameChange776543 · 05/12/2021 11:58

Congratulations, OP! Flowers

Hoppinggreen · 05/12/2021 11:58

I am sorry for your loss - and Congratulations too
This happened to me as well , I must have got pg 1 week after my D&C.
It was fine physically but to be honest it was difficult emotionally
DD is almost 17 now and completely awesome and I have a 12 year old too

SeasonFinale · 05/12/2021 11:58

The exact same happened to me even down to being 7 weeks pregnant when scanned. They did agree to scan me weekly to see what was going on in my pregnancy and once I got tk 15 weeks stopped doing that.

That baby is now at uni!

Many congratulations and hopefully it will be smooth sailing this time for you too. Take care.

wineandsunshine · 05/12/2021 12:13

The same happened to me too! I couldn't believe it at my scan and now he is a crazy 7 year old!

Congrats OP

LittleMysSister · 05/12/2021 21:11
