Longer than usual period, confused now about ovulation

So as the title says I'm confused!
DH and I are going to try for DC2 next month, I use my Flo app religiously, and have done since first DC as I like to know when my period is coming, but am obviously now looking at it with a view to when I'll be ovulating.
Anyway.. this month my period lasted about 9 days!! I have been unwell with some kind of flu like thing, but I've never bled for so long before. Granted my periods are heavy and always have been but this seems really odd to me, anyone else ever had this?

Length of period doesn't affect when you ovulate - you being down with a cold could cry well delay it though. No one can tell you how it will affect you - you just need to track ovulation yourself
