My period is 10 days late and I really hope I'm not pregnant! I'm getting scared. I've got two children already whom have medical needs and the condom broke in the middle of my cycle.
I've taken 4 tests over the past 4 days and they're all negative. I took a clearblue 5 day early test this morning and it still says not pregnant. My breasts are a bit sore and I've been having a few cramps like my period is going to start but it never comes. it's driving me crazy! Has anyone missed a period or thought they were pregnant and their period came weeks later?

Loads of times! Mine was hormonal imbalance due to stress. There’s tons of reasons you can miss a period and you’d be testing positive by now if you were pregnant

Periods skipped a whole year once!! Unexplained.. Had had 2 xdc 14 months apart so was very grateful tbh!!
And extremely grateful for the negative pregnancy tests!!

Yes my cycle disappeared whilst I was ttc for a few months. No real explanation for it other than I was about 5 months post miscarriage so maybe body still sorting itself out. Sometimes our bodies skip ovulation. Otherwise I had fairly regular cycles. Obviously very different circumstances to yours though.

I missed a period altogether once. Other times, ive been very late. Was either worried about pregnancy or hopeful about it each time, but definitely wasn’t.

RLOU30 · 02/11/2021 10:31

Yes, for the last 5 months I am every 7 weeks instead of every 28 days.. I however repotted it as a symptom of covid jab as it happened the exact time I got vaccinated!

Mamamamasaurus · 02/11/2021 10:34

Did you take the MAP? That can mess with your cycle

furbabymama87 · 02/11/2021 10:36

Never, but I have been up to about a week late before. I'm sterilised thought.

  • though

I wouldn't say I'm any more stressed than usual. My period has been pretty regular the past 5/6 months as I've been tracking on an app. I just don't know what's going on. I read that 96%+ people would have a positive test after 7 days of a missed period.

@Mamamamasaurus whats MAP?

Quite a few times! If you’ve got a negative test and you’re 10days late you’re very unlikely to be pregnant. I went to the doctor about it and he said it was very common (I am usually like clockwork). The stress of thinking you’re pregnant is probably contributing too!

Kentuckycarby · 02/11/2021 10:49

MAP is the morning after pill

Sometimes periods just skip for no/unknown reason. Doctors don’t investigate it until 3 missed periods because it’s very common to miss one even without pregnancy

Mol1628 · 02/11/2021 10:53

I was two weeks late a couple of months ago after having the Covid vaccine which has been reported to affect periods.

Scared me as my husband has recently had a vasectomy.

tabulahrasa · 02/11/2021 10:56

I skipped two after the second covid vaccination - not pregnant and back to normal now.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/11/2021 10:58

Yep. I've tracked mine for years, and although they're usually within a day or two I've had the one one that's been completely off. The cycle I had my second jab in lasted 90 days!

Onedayatatime14 · 02/11/2021 11:23

No morning after pill and no covid vaccination so they can't be contributing factors.
I've got my finger, toes and legs crossed!
Thank you for all your replies Smile

Yep quite a few times. From what I've read, your current cycle is a reflection of your diet, stress levels etc 3 months ago so can be thrown off even if there is seemingly nothing to have caused it very recently.
