Will morning after pill work if I have ovulated?

So I’m a bit confused as I track my periods, my last period was October 10th. I think I have ovulated few days ago, as can usually tell with the change in discharge etc. My cycle length is between 29-32. I has sex with my husband last night (unprotected I know am an idiot) and he was too late, I have taken Ellaone just about an hour ago, although online it says if you have ovulated it won’t work. I’m just confused because am not 100 percent sure but think I have ovulated yesterday or day before and day before that! What would be the chances has this happened to anyone else and they have not been pregnant? Thanks

I am not a biologist but I think it works something like this:

You ovulate and the egg travels gradually along the fallopian tube to the uterus over the course of a few days. If any time during those few days there is unprotected sex, or if there is still some live sperm arount from an encounter a day or two before ovulation, and sperm makes it to the egg, the egg can get fertilised but usually continues on the same path to the uterus. If when it reaches the uterus it has been fertilised, the egg will then implant into the uterus wall and the pregnancy continues. The morning after pill works by stopping that final stage from happening. However if you ovulated a few days ago and the egg was already in the uterus when it met a sperm, it could have implanted immediately, before you took the pill.

Sorry @SinoohXaenaHide that's not right it works by stopping or delaying ovulation so is not effective if taken after ovulation

Hi OP if your last period was 10 Oct then you had sex on CD19? Unless you ovulate unusually late then I would say it's very likely you had already ovulated and very unlikely your egg was still around to be fertilised. I think you took ellaone too late so it won't have had any effect. Fingers crossed you get the outcome you want
