Just wondering how long it took to conceive your second baby? my first took 18-20 months and I was 32, 33 nearly 34 now

Baby no 1 took 1 month, I was only 24 though.

Baby no 2 TTC 18 months now and still nothing, now 36.

It’s such a varied journey, I hope you don’t take as long as we’re taking.

Lizbiz89 · 18/10/2021 12:33

Both took one month of active trying. I thought second might take longer so started trying early and wasn't prepared to fall pregnant straight away!

Bananalanacake · 18/10/2021 12:35

About 5 minutes, I was 39 if that gives you any hope.

CorpusCallosum · 18/10/2021 12:59

Another where it happened straight away and was a shock. We thought it might take longer as older (mid 30s) so we started trying and then bam, BABY 🙈

SylvanasWindrunner · 18/10/2021 13:11

Baby 1 took 6 months. First cycle with baby 2.

Echobelly · 18/10/2021 13:13

Oldest pretty much straight out of the starting blocks! Shock Second about 5-6 months - I think it took a while for periods to regularise after coming off pill as I never had a 'normal' timed period during that time.

PairofPears · 18/10/2021 13:15

First took one month, second took seven months xx

roro87 · 18/10/2021 13:35

thanks everyone just really hoping it's no where near as long this time.

EekThreek · 18/10/2021 13:38

#1 took 3-4 months of actively trying

#2 was in the first month of not preventing

#3 was the only time we've had sex since #2 was born.

I don't know whether we're incredibly fertile, or just have incredible timing.

EekThreek · 18/10/2021 13:39

Oh, and I was 25, 30 and 33 respectively.

Lizbiz89 · 18/10/2021 13:40

@EekThreek that's crazy re your third! Out of curiosity were you trying or was it a happy surprise?

Lockdownmummy · 18/10/2021 13:40

No 1 the best part of four years

No 2 not actively trying (but not preventing) a couple of months

Now a couple of months into two under two!!

Dollywilde · 18/10/2021 13:43

Baby 1 took 11 months of very targeted sex aged 30.

Baby 2 decided to make a surprise appearance when we weren’t trying at all - conceived on cycle day 24 when we thought we were ‘safe’ and only one year after DD’s birth Blush

Obviously delighted but will not be using the ovulation timing method of contraception once this one is born Grin!

cravingmilkshake · 18/10/2021 13:44

Baby 1 - 3 months and baby 2 (twins) first time trying!

EekThreek · 18/10/2021 13:46

@Lizbiz89 she was a complete surprise!

3 years on, I'm still shellshocked by being unexpectedly outnumbered 😂😳

Seaweedhair · 18/10/2021 13:48

#1 first time trying

#2 6 months

Best of luck xxx

Immaculatemisconception · 18/10/2021 13:50

I breastfed for 11 months, had one period and got pregnant again.

mummyh2016 · 18/10/2021 13:51

Number 1 - 3 cycles
Number 2 - 4 cycles

Lizbiz89 · 18/10/2021 15:47

@EekThreek that's amazing! We're planning on having a third but not for a while yet. Youngest is currently 2 1/2 and is a handful to say the least!

BelleBox19 · 18/10/2021 18:49

#1 took 3 years and then happened after a one time miracle after we gave up hope!

#2 we weren't 'trying' and it was only my second cycle after stopping breast feeding (I'm only 8 weeks now and trying to process it! DS is 16 months 🙈)

MeatyRvita · 18/10/2021 18:57

#1 was a happy accident a month after our wedding whilst not actively trying but preparing to try in the following months (I was 25)

#2 We have been actively trying on and off for 2 years and no luck (I’m 29 and much much healthier than I was when I conceived ds) Were giving it until Christmas and then will both go and be checked at the doctors.

DramaAlpaca · 18/10/2021 18:58

Literally one try. A bit of a shock as DC1 took 11 months.

CustardGoodJamGoodMeatGood · 18/10/2021 19:01

DD took nearly a year of actively trying, ovulation tests etc. Now 13 weeks with DC2 and I fell pregnant on the pill, so completely the opposite!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 18/10/2021 19:03

Both of mine were from one-off unprotected sex. I'm late 30s. The second is due in Feb.

Yesitshappened3 · 18/10/2021 19:13

First total accident, on contraceptive pill. Next twins, after 19 months of trying.
