Pregnancy test still positive a week after chemical

Hello. I got a bfp at 10dpo nearly two weeks ago. Then on the Sunday at 15dpo started spotted which turned to bleeding just like a period - maybe a bit heavier and lasting a bit longer. Still have some spotting now a week later whereas usual period would be 4-5 days. The EPU said to test using low sensitivity tests until they're negative. Did a boots own brand this afternoon and still a strong positive line. How long does it take for HCG to go down so I can try again? EPU did offer to bring me in for a scan but I had a very traumatic neonatal death late last year so don't particularly want to go to the hospital if it's not necessary. WWYD?

Are you sure you aren't pregnant any more? The sign of a chemical is usually a negative test before nor at the same time as bleeding.

Each time I had a chemica, the test line faded as soon as I started bleeding. Are you sure you are not still pregnant? Implantation bleeds are common. You should definitely ask for a scan.

Hi @CommaStop I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, but unfortunately I'd say you definitely need a scan. It's could be that you're still pregnant with a strong positive on a Boots test a week after a heavy bleed, and you will need to rule out an ectopic. Thank you both. I was pretty sure it was a loss as it was heavy bleeding so not like implantation bleeding - very much like full on period - but now I'm starting to wonder. Think I might ring about a scan

I'd get a scan. I had implantation bleeding which I was certain was a miscarriage but baby held on in there. Sorry about your loss last year 😔 best of luck x
