Potential faint BFP at (what I think) is 21 DPO?

Hello! I'm relatively new here, have been lurking for the past month or so since my husband and I started TTC. Had my copper coil removed mid last month and used OPKs to determine what I thought was my peak on 23/24 September. We BD'd a few times around then, and I tested from 9dpo onwards, always BFNs.

AF was due on 7 October and I thought that she had arrived, had some PMT symptoms etc but only ended up having around 2 days of light flow and no pain at all. This is really unusual for me as I'm normally like clockwork, have a fairly heavy flow of around 4 days and grim-ish cramps. Fast forward to yesterday and I decided to test again, have attached the results. I can see faint lines but may be wishful thinking! I'm having some spotting again today and feel pretty nauseous.

Any advice would be welcome, thanks ladies xx

My photos aren't uploading 😒, could it be because I'm new? Xx

Honestly It's very unlikely you're 21dpo. Odds are you ovulated maybe only 7-9 days ago and hence the faint line now.

Remember, OPKs only tell you you're having an LH surge, not whether you've actually ovulated and you can have multiple surges until your body succeeds to. Only way to have confirmed it on your own would be with basal temperature tracking.

RedIvy18 · 15/10/2021 13:41

Thanks @juno231 🙂, I agree that my actual OV may have been later..may be investing in a thermometer in future then! Thought that I was a pro tracker with my Flo app and OPKs 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Does anyone have advice on the uploading pics issue? Would like some second opinions but I'm not able to post them, possibly because I'm new here xx

New members have to wait 48 hours to upload photos

Jezabel2021 · 15/10/2021 14:28

Hey @RedIvy18 hope your well.
Apparently you can't upload pics until you have had your account for 24/48 hours... I seen that on another thread so I may be wrong but it may be the case also 😂🙈.
I think I'm around 9dpo period isn't due for another 6 days and I am a sucker for poas 😭. I can't help myself! So anyway I done it yesterday line was virtually invisible but something there and then this morning I did another and again so so so faint but I'm just praying that it is a positive and not an indent or anything (it come up within the time frame). Hopefully yours will upload soon. Xx

Thanks for confirming @fairgame84 and @Jezabel2021 👍. Looks like I'll need to wait a couple of days!

@Jezabel2021 it's tricky when they are faint isn't it, I have been second guessing myself so much! Hope the lines get stronger for you 🤞. How long have you been TTC for? Xx

Bit of an update from me...continued to have faint lines on the cheap test strips and then took a cb digital last night which came up as pregnant 1-2weeks.

Tested again this morning with a cb digital plus cheap test strips and got BFNs. Think it might be a chemical..

No bleeding yet, feel very nauseous and just sad 😞. Any advice ladies? Xx

Similar boat to you @RedIvy18 very faint positives but no period and I ovulated on the 26/9 so it should be blazing positive by now. Totally get the sad feeling :(

RedIvy18 · 17/10/2021 14:13

Hugs to you @mummybear23bg, it's hard isn't it. This was my first month of trying so my journey had been nowhere near as long or tough as a lot of people in here, but this has made me realise how much I actually want it!

Felt really nauseous & exhausted today and for the past few days, was really hopeful when I got that positive on the cb digital but still worried as it didn't seem to be far along enough. Should I still call the doc on Monday? No idea what to do xx

Can you do another CB digital with a 4 hour urine hold?

RedIvy18 · 17/10/2021 14:35

@luckytattie yes I can try doing a 4 hour hold. I have one of the foldable cb tests so not a digi. My only concern is that the negative cb digi I did this morning was with fmu, which would have meant around a 6 hour hold, possibly more.

Yes I was wondering if you had gone for a wee in the night or something.
It's such a worrying time when you don't know for sure.
You can always call the Dr and explain what's happened and maybe they will do blood test or get you in to do a pregnancy test there although in my experience they use a higher sensitivity type test so you could get a negative and it's wrong.

RedIvy18 · 17/10/2021 18:36

@Luckytattie it's a bit of an ordeal isn't it 😔. Will call the docs first thing. I'm 99.9% sure now that it's a chemical as I am no longer getting any hint of a positive. Not looking forward to what comes next, haven't bled or anything yet.

An update for anyone who comes across this in future.. yesterday went to the GP who referred me to the EPU at my local hospital. Spoke to the specialist and she said that it was v likely a chemical pregnancy 😔. Feeling pretty down at the moment but I guess I can be encouraged by the fact that we conceived so quickly. Not really sure what happens next, haven't bled at all and my period is 11 days late. Hope this doesn't mess up my cycle!

Luckytattie · 24/10/2021 09:51

I wouldn't say it's over until you get your period.
How are you @RedIvy18?

RedIvy18 · 24/10/2021 10:17

@Luckytattie unfortunately all of my tests have been negative for a week now, just no bleed yet. Know it sounds weird but I just want it to arrive so that I can start a new cycle.

OP posts:
Luckytattie · 24/10/2021 12:49

Ah ok. Yes I know what you mean.
Good luck for the future I'm sure it won't take long.
I had a chemical and then the next cycle got pregnant so it is possible.
Flowers for you

RedIvy18 · 24/10/2021 12:50

Thanks @luckytattie and I'm pleased to hear about your success ☀️ xx
