@beansprout55, it's from ovulation so yeah, you'll be more like 4+3 but midwives and doctors don't trust us to know when we ovulate... it's also normal for your due date to get revised in early scans. Maybe check with your fertility nurse in case she'd rather see you a bit later?

And congrats on your BFP!

laurenGame · 21/10/2021 22:07

@Lianna93 they are stonggg.. sore full breasts, cramping right hand side. Teary! Cried at work yest which is ridiculous for me πŸ˜„ bad skin which was so annoying as normally my skin is clear.
I def felt very different and was thinking this PMS is not like others.
Oh and light headed! That was new. Like a second of dizziness, felt unusual for sure
When are you testing ? X baby dust for you xxx

Lianna93 · 21/10/2021 22:26

@laurenGame some of them are similar to what I'm currently experiencing 🀞🏻

I'm not testing until probably Tuesday. AF is due from Wednesday onwards.

I have insomnia & terrible acid reflux right now along with my usual PMS symptoms- which is making me think, there's quite possibly something 🀞🏻 Also, my breasts are much bigger - they went up 6 inches yesterday and today, they've gone up by a further 2 inches πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ They're super sore but that's a typical AF symptom for me - so maybe they always get this big & I've only just decided to start measuring πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Cruz86 · 21/10/2021 22:32

Congratulations @laurenGame! Your suspected ovulation was the same day as mine and we both got our bfps today ☺️ You've been trying for a while so you must feel absolutely elated!! Such great news.

@BoyMum18 there's definitely a line there, congratulations! Can't wait to see your pink dye result!

laurenGame · 21/10/2021 22:54

@Lianna93 oh I remember your post about 6 inch breast increase πŸ˜‚ I remember thinking maybe I sulks have measured mine as they're def bigger.

I'm actually a bit of an anti-symptom spotter, as I think a lot of them are just day to day changes. But the sore breasts and cramps I just couldn't ignore , almost took a painkiller for cramps .
Hang in there till Tuesday x I'm glad I didn't test earlier than 11 dpo as earlier than that would have been a faint line and I would prob drive myself crazy with doubt

laurenGame · 21/10/2021 22:58

Thanks @Cruz86 yes been trying for a while, I actually have fertility appointment booked, will have to call them and cancel Smile
Congratulations you seem to have half a thread elated for you!! 🀩

Squiff70 · 21/10/2021 23:14

@beansprout55

Question - I'm 17DPO and pregnant, but because my follicular phase is longer (I don't ovulate until day 20/21 - basically an extra week to the 28 day cycle) do I just add two weeks on? So I would be 4+3? Surely I can't be 5+3 when I only ovulated 2 and a half weeks ago!

I think that's right, but my fertility nurse knows all my dates and has booked me for a 7 week scan when I would have thought I'd be 6 weeks. Very confusing.... Hmm

@beansprout55 contrary to previous advice, pregnancies are NOT dated from ovulation. They are dated from the first day of your last period.

If your period, for example, started on 1st September and you ovulated on the 12th, by the 12th you're already considered 12 days into your pregnancy.

Hope that makes sense!

laurenGame · 22/10/2021 02:40
@laurenGame CONGRATULATIONS WAHOOO - we are all waiting with patient baited breath for the changes you made this month. I’m on cycle sick, CD 29, due AF tomorrow - Sunday and zero preggo feels rn sadly.
I wouldn't compare yourself to others' symptoms. So many people on board seem to have spotting after ovulation, I thought it must be abnormal because i never spot. ☹️

So I googled it and apparently 25% of women experience spotting. Meaning it's fine to spot or not to spot. So if you don't have my symptoms then it doesn't mean you won't have a successful outcome this month Smile

And thank you, with PCOS and being 35 yo, I was not massively hopeful πŸ’—

Effram · 22/10/2021 05:43

Morning - tentative congrats @BoyMum18 although that line looks pretty clear to me! It's stronger than my clearblue and this morning I got this

Elsols93 · 22/10/2021 06:14

@Effram that’s a great line congratulations ❀️

BoyMum18 · 22/10/2021 06:33

Aaaah! Went to take my second clear blue this morning before I buy frer tests and the test was faulty!!! No control line! πŸ˜‚

Missy95 · 22/10/2021 06:55

Congratulations @laurenGame and @Effram and @BoyMum18 and anyone else I may have missed! what a lovely post to wake up to this morning!

This is my free this morning, it still seems quite faint for 4 days missed period but I think I had implantation bleed on Tuesday so could have something to do that with that? I have a digi to do tomorrow and hopefully seeing the words 'pregnant' will cement it and I can stop testing lol.

Good luck to anyone else still waiting to test or moving onto the November bus ❀️

Shortmamashortcycles · 22/10/2021 07:01

@beansprout55, @Squiff70 - I want to clear any confusion. Pregnancies are dated from the first day of your last period because this is the clearest signal of your cycle. Ovulation is hard to track with certainty. However the assumption in dating from your period is that you ovulate on day 14. That is why day 28 will correspond to "4 weeks pregnant". Due dates assume a 40 week pregnancy which equates to a 38 week gestational period (although due dates are notoriously unreliable!)

However, if you ovulate on day 21 of your cycle, you cannot be 4 weeks pregnant on day 28 because the blastocyst has only been fertilised 7 days prior, not 14 days as doctors will assume. That's a week less of development time. That's fine, but it's one key reason why 12 week scans are often referred to as dating scans - i.e. it allows healthcare professionals to more accurately date your pregnancy rather than assuming day 14 ovulation.

That's why I recommended you contact the fertility nurse so she can advise. There is significant difference in what will show on an ultrasound at 6 weeks vs 7 weeks, so it depends what the scan is looking for.

purpleskyssssss · 22/10/2021 07:07

Wow congrats all on the BFP's ❀️ I have been lurking in the background this month and not been as active on mums net, but so lovely to see all the BFP's

@Missy95 I think that line looks lovely and would try not worry about darkness - I'm sure I can remember you from lots of previous threads! Congrats ❀️❀️

laurenGame · 22/10/2021 07:12

@Missy95 a line is a line Smile congratulations πŸ‘

BoyMum18 · 22/10/2021 07:12

No positive for me :( did another clear blue as can't get first response in any of the shops and it was negative. Must have been an evap line.

Mummytobe93 · 22/10/2021 07:16

Wow, this thread truly proved to be lucky! Congratulations to all the new mammas

@BoyMum18 dot give up just yet hunny, CB tends to be not as sensitive, maybe GIVE it till tomorrow morning and test again?

Effram · 22/10/2021 07:18

@Missy95 yay, looks great!

I feel like this is the luckiest thread ever...

Also echo what @Shortmamashortcycles says. For some reason the NHS don't trust us to know when ovulation happened so use period and average. The 12 week dating scan therefore often adjusts due date a bit.

I would say it's really useful to know dates from ovulation though esp at the end of pregnancy to avoid being pressured into induction etc as if you know you ovulated a week late then you won't be 'overdue' until later!

Firsttimetrier · 22/10/2021 07:25

Congratulations @Missy95! That’s a great line!

I got tempted and did my other FRER this morning and it was a BFN, not even a tiny hint of a line.

AF is due in 5 days, so I’m going to stock up on OPKs and transition over to the November thread whilst I wait for her arrival.

i123i · 22/10/2021 07:32

@laurenGame - hurrah, congratulations!!!!
And @Effram too!! ⭐️

@BoyMum18 - Keeping my fingers crossed for you. ❀️

@Missy95 - woohoo, that is a great line!! 🌟

@Firsttimetrier - not out until af comes πŸ™πŸ»

Missy95 · 22/10/2021 07:38

Thank you everyone; feeling much calmer now.
To those who are yet to test and get a bfp; don't give up hope yet ladies ❀️

@purpleskyssssss I have seen your name a few times on some older threads too! I have been trying since January so have hopped on and off a few buses haha ❀️

Dobcaty · 22/10/2021 08:01

Morning everyone!

Sharp white this morning, so it's time to move to next thread for me. AF due tomorrow, Sunday. Still no plan what we do differently next as I will be soo busy at work from now.

Congratulations everyone who tested positive, wishing a healthy and happy pregnancy! πŸ₯°

Effram · 22/10/2021 08:05

@firsttimetrier that is still very very early for even a frer so I will keep everything crossed. But I always think bracing and moving to next month is the best way to manage all expectations!
