How important is it to get a 'dye stealer'

I've still not had a dye stealer. I'm trying not to test too much but I'm getting a bit worried. I've got one more to use up tomorrow if the next day. Started out with pale lines but my last three clear blue test have been big, thick, bright blue lines. Slightly lighter than the control line. But they've never matched the control line or been a dye stealer. Is that important. Does it spell doom (I'm coming in off the back of three miscarriages so maybe a little paranoid) for this pregnancy or am I way over thinking.

A line is a line. I wouldn't worry about getting a dye stealer. I would stop testing as it sounds as though it's causing you some anxiety.

I'd say that's far too early! I didn't get one till a lot later.

Charl881 · 04/10/2021 20:08

I never got one but after my positive I switched to clear blue digital, did one a week until I got my 3 weeks plus. I don’t think it’s important at all, as long as the lines aren’t getting weaker. A line is a line!

@Jsgdud - ooh really. That makes me feel loads better!
Ok. I'm going to use the one I have left in a couple of days and that's it. It is drivig me mad. I've not worried about this stuff before!!!
As long as they aren't getting lighter!
Does everyone end up getting a dye stealer?

Lots of people stop testing after the first one or two! Definitely no 'need' to see a dye stealer. Don't worry yourself at all. Of course you're going to be anxious after the miscarriages, but try to enjoy these weeks - book an early scan for a few weeks time if it will help (or will you be booked one anyway because of the previous miscarriages?) and then relax 😁

I didn't have a dye stealer. I tested early and saw a faint line. Knew my DH would not really believe until I had a more clear line but definitely no dye stealer.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 04/10/2021 22:53

I never got more than a faint blue second line and it certainly didnt look to be doubling...

I drove myself bonkers with this and 20 pregnancy tests or so later at 6 weeks was mildly hysterical and convinced i had blighted ovvum
🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
£300 later a heartbeat and a stern chat with a v nice sonographer calmed me down.

I am 20 weeks and having a fairly textbook pregnancy (except insomnia sciatica and a few other things)

I never got a dye stealer, was addicted to seeing a line progression that never happened and I'm 15 weeks now baby is perfectly healthy! Don't cause yourself extra stress x

Hi

tb4122 · 12/05/2023 21:52

I tested for about 10 days after my first positive worrying about line progression and never got a dye stealer. All was well though and he's nearly 6 months old now.
