18dp5dt / 23dpo Very worried about line progression

I’m 18 days past a 5 day transfer of 3 blastocysts. I expected to see a dye stealer by now but it looks as though my lines have stopped progressing today. I’m very worried as I had a miscarriage last cycle. My betas have been on the low side but doubling.
11dp5dt 21.1
13dp5dt 49.8
Currently waiting for the results from my third beta taken yesterday 17dp5dt.
Why has my line stopped progressing? Does anyone think I need to panic?

What, surely those are as dark as they are going to get?

Stop testing.

Charl881 · 04/10/2021 12:49

@Clove86 I can’t think that a test is going to get any darker than that! Put the sticks down, it will only keep causing you more anguish. I know it’s difficult but right now you are most definitely pregnant so try to enjoy today right now for what it is and then take each day as it comes, otherwise you’re in for a very long 9 months! Hopefully your beta results will provide more reassurance.

Clove86 · 04/10/2021 13:03

Thank you both. I should be 5+2 today but I have no symptoms and with the low betas it’s worrying me. Also I bled for 2 days last week. I’ve seen some people get tests earlier than now where the test line is much darker than the control. I took another picture of my tests in the light and it’s easier to see that progression has stopped. I know I’m acting crazy right now! Just very anxious. Won’t get my third beta results until tomorrow 😫

@Clove86 I agree with the other posters that I don't think the lines can get much darker now.

The most anxious I have ever been was the first trimester of my pregnancy after IVF. People don't say it on the forums because it seems insensitive when others are still dreaming of that BFP but for many of us the time post BFP is more stressful than the process before. I was out of my mind with worry.

There is no way of knowing other than that third beta and also time. I know the waiting is agony.

There is a thread in infertility about this although it has gone quiet. You may want to read through anyway. I'll send you the link. Fingers crossed xxx

The 3 week wait no one mentions www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/4347012-The-3-week-wait-no-one-mentions

Clove86 · 04/10/2021 13:12

@Janefx40 thanks so much 🙏. It’s my fifth cycle, 3 complete failures and last tome was a miscarriage. It’s our final try so as you can imagine I have everything invested in it and am extremely anxious! Thanks for the link I’ll take a look

Sending positive vibes @Clove86

My frers never achieved 'dye stealer' status, so please don't fret. Those are some really nice lines. It's a really anxious time for anyone, let alone somebody on their fifth round of IVF. Keeping fingers firmly crossed for your beta results xx

Noodella18 · 04/10/2021 15:48

@Clove86 and also, I didn't have any symptoms either until 6.5 weeks when the morning sickness kicked in with a vengeance, so just try to enjoy the calm before the storm xx

Clove86 · 04/10/2021 15:49

@Noodella18 thanks so much that definitely puts my mind at ease a bit Smile

Noodella18 · 04/10/2021 16:00

@Clove86 oh yes, and also, I had two days of bright red blood at 14dpo, thought it was my period, but then it eased off to a bit of brown spotting and I'm now 22 weeks. It can just be the embryo really bedding in xx

Clove86 · 04/10/2021 16:06

@Noodella18 oh I really hope so. It felt like a period so was expecting the lines to lighten after that but they haven’t yet. IVF is so stressful, the actual process and then this bit afterwards, especially after investing so much money into it, and the drugs I’m in don’t help. I’ll update this when I get my beta results, fingers crossed I’ll have good news 🙂

Noodella18 · 04/10/2021 16:21

@clove86 if it was only 2 days of bleeding then it doesn't sound like a period. Have you had bleeding since then? With my first pregnancy I bled pretty much every day of first trimester and all was fine. Your uterus and cervix are more sensitive and you have hormonal changes which also affect things.

willithappen · 04/10/2021 16:25

Hi lovely,

Just wanted to say I also had bleeding early afternoon ivf BFP and at around the 14dpo time as well (also got it at 6 weeks and 8 weeks). It was always just when wiping, some was a tinge of red and mostly brown. I'm not almost 27 weeks pregnant and everything is fine :)

My tests were also about as dark as yours, and also remember that the more your HCG rises sometimes the tests work backwards (the 'hook' affect) and test lines can get lighter.
Best thing is to stop testing (as hard as that is!)

Clove86 · 04/10/2021 16:31

@willithappen you are right I need to step away from the tests. I don’t usually test this much but I’m still traumatised by the miscarriage last cycle. Thank you for the reassurance 💐

@Noodella18 not had bleeding since. It was a strange brown discharge with some cramping from 13dp5dt to 15dp5dt. That is how my miscarriage begun last time so I thought it was all over, plus my betas were so low but doubling. I won’t believe anything either way until I get the beta results tomorrow 🙏

@Clove86 we'll have everything crossed for you. Come back on if you need more support.

itsmschanandlerbong · 04/10/2021 20:10

I'm 7+6 with an ivf pregnancy so I totally get the anxiety. Those are some dark lines though. I would stop testing as it sounds as though it is causing you more anxiety.

Moonshine160 · 04/10/2021 20:42

Those are good dark lines. I agree with PP that I don’t think they can get much darker than that! I had no pregnancy symptoms until I got to around 8 weeks. Good luck with the results tomorrow, I have everything crossed for you.

Charl881 · 05/10/2021 20:14

@Clove86 did you get your beta results? Hope all ok.

Clove86 · 05/10/2021 21:34

@Charl881 unfortunately I still don’t have them back. I’m praying I get them tomorrow as I’m in a state of anxiety 😦. I got 2-3 weeks on the CB digi today though. I’m 5 weeks 3 days, does that sound about right?

OP posts:
Charl881 · 05/10/2021 21:57

Oh no how frustrating for you! I really hope you get answers tomorrow and your mind can be put at rest. 2-3 weeks sounds fine, I don’t think you’d expect 3+ until five weeks at the very earliest and you’re only just into the five weeks category! They’re only approximate.

Moonshine160 · 05/10/2021 22:01

When I was about 4 weeks and 3 days my clearblue said 1-2 weeks so that sounds right. He’s now 2.5 years old :)

Clove86 · 06/10/2021 08:27

Thank you all for the reassurance you’re all fab 💐💐

OP posts:
Noodella18 · 06/10/2021 10:26

I still hadn't had a 3+ on a weeks indicator when I was 6.5 weeks and I didn't bother testing with one of them again cause it made me feel shit! They're just approximate, the most important thing is that you haven't had any bleeding (those two days of brown discharge don't even count as discharge as it sounds like old implantation blood) and you've got good strong tests. Really hope you get your betas back today xx

Clove86 · 06/10/2021 15:01

So I got my hcg results and it’s not good news 😭.
11dp5dt: 21.1
13dp5dt: 49.8
17dp5dt: 230 😭

So they are doubling every 48 hours but still incredibly low.
Should I prepare for miscarriage?
Today is 20dp5dt, should I get another blood test or wait for a scan?
My urine tests are progressing but that obviously does not tell the full story 😭.
Fifth round of IVF and I really thought this was it but it’s looking like it’s not meant to be 🙁

OP posts:
Charl881 · 06/10/2021 16:48

Oh no sorry to hear that, did the clinic offer you any advice? Have you got a scan booked in?
