Can anybody help me understand LH tests and timing of ovulation please?

It’s my first month using LH test strips and I used them twice a day until I got a positive and it returned to negative.

My cycle is 28 days and regular but always starts off with light spotting for a day or two so I’m never sure which day to class as day 1! I think the first day of my cycle (light but full flow) was the 2nd September. I had a positive LH test on the 15th (CD 14) in the evening and two more (morning and evening) the next day (CD 15). The test says ovulation will occur 24 - 48 hours after a positive test so I’m guessing I most likely ovulated on day 16. Is this interpretation correct?

Also is the day of ovulation day 0 when referring to DPO? Based on this I’d be on CD 24 today and 8 DPO. I have some symptoms that started yesterday evening that I don’t think are signs my periods on its way - I did get pregnant earlier this year but miscarried and these are similar and the timing is identical. I really want to know but I also don’t want to waste money on pregnancy tests by testing too early!

Thanks 😊

Yep all of those things you have assumed are correct! Fertility friend is a really good app if you want to put the data in there to then visualise it on a graph.

Thank you! I think I’ve seen the graphs on other posts so will check it out ☺️
