What's the earliest that morning sickness can kick in?

See, only been trying 5 mins and I'm analysing everything. I know with DS one I felt shockingly pregnant within about 2 weeks, before I did a test. Only I didn't know that's what it was. I thought I had mono or something.

Well... looking back, I was feeling sick after what can only have been a week or so... of course i didnt realise at the time! plus, we both DID have mono!!!

I kept telling my mum i had waves of nausea. I remember her saying are you sure your not pregnant... I had also just had my pain meds changed so put it down to that! turns out, by working it all out now, it was morning sickness. went on from then until I was about 13 weeks.

I had pregnancy confirmed at 8 weeks.

Susie - a week! That's interesting. I can't remember much about last time as it wasn't planned and for the first couple of weeks I just thought I had a hangover. After three weeks I felt dizzy and weird and thought I was getting a cold, so I forced myself into a really rigorous session in the gym to try and sweat it out. I took a test the next day.

I'm just wondering because I felt rough this morning and couldn't face breakfast until 10am. This is not normal for me.

With first three pregnancies I knew I was pregnant before I could confirm by test - none were planned so not really looking out for symptoms . I also had bad morning sickness two days before I could test for each pregnancy (which carried on way past the usual 12 weeks )

With this fourth pregnancy which WAS planned I had no symptoms until 6 weeks, and MS wore off at 12 weeks.

Pregnancy was confirmed at 4 weeks on each occassion btw. Will keep fingers crossed for you but I don't want to get your hopes up too much - I learnt all about the 'crash' when I was trying this time.

Cheers coby. Am trying not to get too carried away. We didn't try that hard this month as ideally we wanted to wait til January to start trying.

I'd forgotten how awful morning sickness was - I had it all day, every day from about weeks 8-15. It was hellish! Is there a chance next time might be different?

morning sickness for me was (full on):

DD1 4 weeks - 18 weeks

DD2 4 weeks - 25 weeks (then again after she was born which was weird, but it was morning sickness honest)

DC3 4 weeks until MC

DC4 6 - 12 weeks a few rough mornings now at 16 weeks but nothing bad at all

People suggest DC4 = boy as apparently they are less likely to make you so ill. Not sure it's as black and white as that though!

with my first pg, i was feeling sick before the bfp - which i got at exactly day 28 and theoretically the earliest time i could test. i have a 30-day cycle so figure that out
DS2 i got it slightly later -ooohhh it must have been about day 30 before i started reaching for the ginger biscuits
joy of joys, DD gave me no sickness whatsoever.

mono = glandular fever ( epstein barr virus)

Well, like I say, I had no idea at the time that was it. Its possible that the sickness that week was to do with pain killers and maybe the glandular fever... however, it was a weird sickness, it came in 'waves' and didnt go until I was 12 weeks pregnant. I took a test at 8 weeks... ( i had been on a pill that altered your periods so had no idea that i'd missed one if that makes sense? )
