I’m 37. Been trying for 6 months. Did Clear Blue ovulation test this month over the few days when it should have been according to app, no positive ovulation.

Doctor said to make an appt once it has been six months.

What else can I do Sad

Presumably you're already looking at a healthy diet, exercise, no smoking/drinking, reducing caffeine, pre-natal vitamins etc etc. Is your partner also doing the same?

You could try charting your temperature, and other cycle indicators to see if you might be ovulating at a different point in your cycle to where you expect. Apologies if these are all things you're already doing.

Thank you for replying, I have done none of those things! So really helpful.

I am clueless and assumed it would just happen. I know there are lots of threads by the amount of conversation and information is intimidating.

I’m worried that I never got a smily on the ovulation test that that means there is no ovulation.

It can just happen, but there are also things that can help.

Not getting a smiley face on the ovulation tests on the days you did them doesn't mean you aren't ovulating at all. I think really getting to know your cycle is helpful, hence the charting advice. You can get apps that can help with recording info and predicting fertile days.

Maby try doing OPK tests over a wider time period? You may be ovulating earlier or later than you think! There are things that can be done to help (lifestyle changes and medication) so don't panic.

6 months isn't all that long in trying to conceive (but it does feel long!) Some people it happens quickly and sometimes it takes longer. It took us 6/7 months (I am younger but it's different for everyone). I took Pregnacare conception vitamins and my husband took the Men ones and the next month I was pregnant. Also, try not to panic of you can, I really think trying to relax helps but of course that's not easy!

@lovesT over 30 it's medically advised to give it 6months and then seek medical attention (investigation etc). 30 and below the advice is to have tried over a year 😊

Do you get other signs of ovulation? Egg white cervical mucus, increased sex drive, mittleschmertz etc? Are your periods regular?

I'm not actively TTC right now but I felt like I was ovulating early this month (a week early) and that would have thrown my cycle and personal plans for next month out meaning I might need some medical intervention so I got a bunch of OPK sticks on Amazon Prime and was able to pinpoint when ovulation happened. It wasn't when I expected it and jt wasn't when my chart on my tracker would have pinpointed as ovulating.

It could just be that you tested at the wrong time.
