(Very) vivid dreams - not even had BFP yet

Hi guys, needed some advice please. Anyone else experience this?

Literally only not even a week DPO (I'd say about 5 days) Past 2 nights I have had extremely vivid dreams- not like I have ever had before.

Has anyone experienced this in extremely early pregnancy ? (Or am I again getting my hopes up) Sad

I had very vivid dreams in 2 of my pregnancies so possibly!

Hopefulhedgehog · 19/09/2021 12:58

If you are only 5dpo then it is extremely unlikely you’d be having any symptoms at 4/5dpo or that implantation would have happened yet. Probably your mind in overdrive causing the dreams! Fingers crossed for you x

I have heard the vivid dream thing before and that it means PG, however....I had vivid dreams, like out of the ordinary for me, last cycle and I wasn't.

My advice would be - do not obsess over symptom spotting and just wait it out. I know it's hard, but I really don't think many of these "symptoms" mean much and you'll just drive yourself mad.

I do have all my fingers crossed for a BFP for you though! xx

Thank you so much everyone.

@Danani you are right. It's the obsessing that needs to stop! I won't mention the amount of YouTube videos I've been watching HmmGrin

Thanks @Allthingspeaches

I did read that it's more common during the third trimester though. Xx

@Pugmumm oh, I did that last month. It was our first time TTC and I did all the stupid sh*t...left no YouTube video unwatched...like really went down the rabbit hole - first trimester vids, finding out I'm pregnant vids, line progression vids...you name it, I've watched it. LOL

I also did the early testing thing, from like 7 DPO sometimes multiple times a day, and was symptom spotting like a crazy woman...
Honestly, I was curious as everything was new and exciting but ultimately drove myself crazy and felt so disappointed each day. Not good for your mental health.

This month, I did the exact opposite - haven't really obsessed, read or watched, haven't tested, haven't been symptom spotting. Will do my first test at 12 DPO and then wait till AF. What's meant to be will be, and me being obsessive about it won't speed things up. :)

In my first pregnancy with my son I started having vivid dreams literally days after conception. I had no idea it was even a symptom of pregnancy at the time, only realised that later. So yes, it possible that you're into something! 🙂

Noodella18 · 19/09/2021 14:05

Progesterone increases the chance of vivid dreams. Progesterone levels are higher in the two week wait, hence vivid dreams. So it can be because of pregnancy or just because of your cycle.

Pugmumm · 19/09/2021 17:06

@Danani oh sorry that made me laugh- I am exactly the same right now! 😆

I will take a test 12 DPO and see how I get on, even if it's a faint line. I am SO glad I am not the only one.

Please let me know how you get on and best of luck to us both SmileBrew

@Fabianaa thank you for letting me know. I did think this is totally far too early. My first 'try' with DP was 12th September which was the day I was one day before I was due to ovulate. I don't know if it's too early but never had dreams like this.

@Pugmumm you are definitely NOT the only one. Not by a long stretch. 😁

Thank you, good luck to you too! I’ll report on Tue after I test. Although, now Tue seems really soon and I’m starting to freak out about testing and wonder if…maybe…I should just wait till Fri morning and test then when AF is due? 😬😬😬

Pugmumm · 19/09/2021 17:40

@Danani I would still test Tuesday and see if you get a faint line Smile Then do another test Friday. That's just me !!

Definitely let us know how you get on 😬😊😊

Vivid dreams were my earliest symptom both times, well before I saw a positive pregnancy test. Now 9 weeks and I still have them every night

Pugmumm · 19/09/2021 23:24

@NZmum40 I have had these past 2 days and I'm about a week past DPO. Interesting with all the feedback. Thank you Smile

@NZmum40 same here, I never had such mad dreams before so it felt very different. Also they continued throughout my entire pregnancy and I was so done with them sometimes, they just felt so real 😄 since giving birth two years ago haven't had one like that since.
