I have a question which might be TMI, but would appreciate anyone who can share some of their experience and knowledge.
Okay, it's 2 questions.

  1. DTD: When you got your BFP, how much were you DTD? and do you remember which days (i.e. if you're fertile window is 5 days, did you do 1,3 and 5; did you do 1-5, did you do 1,2 and 4,5)? And does it actually matter?
I am so confused, I keep reading contradictory information...some say every day is good, some say it's not, some say once is enough. I'm only on cycle 2 of TTC #1, but I imagined things would just happen right away, and they're not, so I want to gage if I'm DTD enough and if I'm doing it at the right time. (this past cycle my window was Sep 4-10, with projected O day on 9 and we DTD on 5,6,8 and 9). Assuming O day was correct (I didn't use ovulation tests this time), do you think this was enough and did we do it at the right / best days?
  1. Symptoms: I keep reading about people experiencing all sorts of symptoms from like 2 DPO, as well as a lot of people mentioning implantation cramping and bleeding - my question is, is this the norm? I'm 7 DPO today, and I feel absolutely nothing different. I don't have any symptoms of any kind. Is it a given that if I am pregnant, I would get those? Or are people also getting their BFPs without experiencing any of these? Looking for a friend...

The reason you’ll see contradictory information is because there’s no normal. What works for one doesn’t work for another, what’s normal for someone isn’t normal for someone else. The best thing you can do is learn your own cycles as best you can, learn your own symptoms, work out if you’re ovulating and when with opks and temping if you aren’t already, because the apps are just guessing. They might tell you you’re ovulating on day 13 but it’s actually day 10 or day 18 and so on. The symptoms one person gets will be different from the next, but most symptoms are also symptoms of your period arriving so there’s really no rule that works or applies for everyone. Similarly, someone might turn up here say this had sex once in their cycle, another will say every day, or every other day in fertile week.

I know this might not be very helpful, but cycle 2 really isn’t something to worry about. It can take 6 months to one year for regularly fertile people (those without any issues) so really do not panic at cycle 2, sometimes it just takes a while. Often the advice is to have sex 2-3 times per week throughout your cycle so you’re catching all the potential days you could be ovulating.

If you want to get pregnant fast I’d recommend the clear blue advanced ovulation sticks. Just make sure you follow the instructions correctly.

With both my pregnancies I had sex the day of ovulation and the two days before. With my first pregnancy (didn’t use the clear blue tests) I got pregnant third month and this time round it was my second month.

Obviously we are incredibly lucky but I do think the clear blue tests helped as I ovulated three days later than normal and would have never known.

Try not to read too much into other peoples symptoms either, implantation takes 6-12 days so most of these people are reading way too much into things and driving themselves round the bend (I know- I’ve been there!)

Good Luck!

Thank you both so much!
It helps to know how others are “doing things” so I really appreciate you sharing!!!
I’ll try to not freak myself out and worry. I’ll keep with my app (it has been absolutely spot on so far) and will continue using CBs ovulation tests, I used them in my last cycle and found them very easy to use. Thanks again for sharing!!!
