What are people thoughts on pregnancy tests especially for testing before AF is due. I see lately a lot of bad reviews on the FRER regarding indents and evaps with a pink tinge to them giving false hope..

I want to test this weekend I will be anywhere from 8-10dpo but unsure what to get.

Thanks in advance

I want to test this weekend too! I think we’re similar timings 😁 I am similarly impatient… I’ve gone for some cheap strip tests (don’t know what they’re really called) from Boots and I did get some FRER as well as I thought they were supposed to be good. Interested to hear what the recommendations are!

FRER is the best for this stage of testing Smile

FRER or the frer dupe 'Answer' brand are the same and good. Get these off amazon though, don't pay boots prices. You can get answer ones from savers if there's one near you.

I also rate the 'easy at home' pregnancy tests from amazon. You can get them in packs of 20/25 for about £10. In my experience these are the best of the cheapies. Occasional very obvious faulty false positive.

One steps multipack, cheap and cheerful. High incidence of shiny/dark evaps.

Clear blue are OK, I like them to confirm a positive after a pink dye positive. They tend to run darker for positives but also with evaps.

Don't use digital ones till after about 12/13 dpo because they're not as sensitive as normal ones.

It depends on if you are going to get two tests and wait till you have missed your period, or if you think you'll be a super early/multi tester. Grin

I always used the cheap one step tests (literally can get 50 for less than £5) When I got the faintest of lines at 11dpo I then tested with my frer and got a proper positive :)
