Seven days of spotting, still no period! Anyone else? Why does it happen?

I am now on my seventh day of spotting and my period, which was due today, has still not arrived.

I mentioned it to my GP on Monday but she didn't seem very interested in it and couldn't say what the cause was.

This has been going on for a couple of years now. Does anyone else get this? Do you know what causes it, and more importantly how to stop it?

I am worried that it will affect our chances of conceiving as I start spotting on the same day as implantation should occur.

Have you done a pregnancy test ?
As this happens every month i would think there is some hormonal element to it, can you afford to see a private gynae ? Maybe your progesterone levels need tweaking .

Yes I did one yesterday, very negative! Not even a squinter!

I had this early days coming off the pill. Doctor said it’s due to not having enough oestrogen after the ovulation spike. It’s a bit annoying but if happening all the time would just get checked out.

I had this for months prior to conceiving. Like you I was worried it was impacting my fertility and still wonder if it was why things took a while but after 8 months of ttc things worked out.
Reducing my sugar intake seemed to reduce the number of days of spotting, or at least I think it did!
