Just curious! Will start ttc no 2 soon and no 1 was immediate! Periods are regular but give or take a few days either side (which is annoying).

I only became pregnant when I stopped bf completely after trying to conceive 2nd for some time. However I have friends that have conceived while breastfeeding without any problems at all so I’m probably not the norm! Just my experience. I did get pregnant the same month I stopped … so very quickly!

It took 3 months, I was bf my 2 year old once or twice per day and had regularish periods.

I was still breastfeeding a 9 month old when I got pregnant.

No1 took a year to conceive. I was still feeding him (aged 2) when I conceived No2 in just one night.

Just one careless night for us!

3 months. Still feeding 2 year old who was a complete boob monster and feeding multiple times a day.

Second month (ended in mmc) then first month.

Tried for a year while still bf Dd1 (when she was aged between 1 and 2). Nothing. Stopped after she turned 2 and was pregnant 3 months later.

One night when DD1 was 12 months. Stopped BFing at 17 months.

My baby was 6 months and I was breast feeding day and night having just started weaning when I fell pregnant.

Really interesting, so varied!

The eldest was 18 months when I realised I was pregnant again. Breastfeeding became too painful (the pain one night was how I knew I was pregnant again) and I stopped immediately, which I still feel a bit guilty about.

I wouldn't say that was 18 months of trying - though we didn't use any contraception after the first, as I was happy to be pregnant again as soon as it happened. The gap is a bigger one than I'd have liked. My age (38) won't have helped but the main reason I think was that I was permanently exhausted as I had gone back to work when she was 5 months old and I was hardly getting any sleep. I don't think it's any coincidence that I became pregnant again the month after we sleep-trained!
