High fertility on Clear Blue, but negative on LH strip.

I should start out by saying i have irregular periods. I had what I thought was my period, some light bleeding for 4 days, then began testing so as not to miss peak. First was was the base reading them second day went straight to peak. LH strip had a visible line, but not dark enough to be positive which faded by the next day. Thought it couldn't be right so started again with a new holder. This is about 7 days later now, and I've had 2 days of high fertility ( flashing face) but LH strips are 100% neg. No line at all. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be happening?

Thanks Smile

Flashing face is triggered by oestrogen whereas the static face and cheap OPKs just monitor LH. So it's very possible to have oestrogen surging for quite a few days before LH starts doing anything. I'd carry on testing and waiting for that LH peak as the oestrogen doesn't mean much without it.

Sounds like you would benefit from tracking your temperature though if you're getting multiple LH surges and have irregular cycles. It'll be the only way to spot if you've actually ovulated.

I never once tested positive on LH strips. Then hospital blood tests showed I ovulated just fine. I'd not bother using the strips.

Ok thank you that's good to know! I have been thinking about temping but everyone says it needs to be done at the same time each day and my work hours just make this impossible. Do you still think it would be worth it?

I used to be the same! That's why I switched to the digital, but then I invested in some better quality strips and I've been getting at least some sort of reading. I've had ultrasounds and hormones tested and everything looks fine but still waiting for that BFP. I'll just keep testing and see what happens Smile

@Agalia1990 how different are your hours? If random shifts then it's probably not worth it! I'd just try and makes sure you BD every couple of days and that's all you need to do really. But I know how stressful it is not to know if you've ovulated or not.

I alternate weekly, a 3hr difference. And that's the other problem! I'm actually using a donor as I'm single, so I only get 1 shot a cycle really. That's why I'm really trying to pinpoint it. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope it all aligns eventually!

@Agalia1990 ah if it's weekly it could potentially work! The thermometer is only £10 so worth a shot if it's driving you mad.

I will give it a go, nothing to lose! Thanks Smile
