Sorry for the TMI post. I have a 41 day cycle and I'm currently TTC. Ive been trying for over a month now. I'm currently 3DPO and my period isn't due for another 2 weeks. Today I got cramps and all of a spotting (very light pink not enough to fill bad or tampon and only when I wipe) past week ive been so moody and a little bit nauseous. I tested the morning and got a BFN, could this be implantation (had sex within the last 12 days)? Or an early period? The negative test has really thrown me off. Thanks x

Hi @charcharbw

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. You're trying for over a month? So that means it's your first cycle, yes?
Do you know you're 3dpo because you're tracking it with temperature or ovulation kits, or do you track it with an app? Because the apps will just use a generic 14 day phase between ovulation and first day of your new cylce, so if your luteal phase is shorter or longer, you won't know for sure when you're ovulating, unless you're tracking it with bbt or ovulation kits.
That being said, if you're really 3dpo, implantation is highly unlikely. While implantation can happen as early as 5dpo, most happen at 9dpo. Some can even happen as late as 13dpo.
And even if you're wrong with the dates, and let's say you're already 6dpo, chances of a BFP at that stage are low. If it's implantation bleeding, it will take another two or three days until the pregnancy hormones start to show in a test. Give yourself some time, I know it's a rollercoaster, we've all been there.
My personal advise is not to test too early, as you might get a false negative (as in, too early to detect anything yet).

Are you quite sure of your ovulation date? It would be too early to test if so because implantation wouldn’t have happened yet.
