Has anyone got their BFP after they got low Progestrone test results (Mine is only 15nmol :'( )

Hi.

Has anyone got their BFP the same cycle when their progesterone results were low? or Is it even possible to have 15nmol progesterone and still have ovulated? (I took the test 7 days before my period). I was going to test again tomorrow morning but I'm guessing there is no point now 😩😢

Thanks

I'm afraid most places state that 30 means ovulation has occurred, a few places say over 17 but the general rule is over 30 so it's likely to be an anovulatory cycle I'm afraid where you haven't ovulated so can't get pregnant. It doesn't mean all your cycles are like that though

So the problem with the cd21 progesterone test is that progesterone is released in pulses and it’s hard to catch a peak. How long is your LP? The test should really be done mid-LP which means it’s a different time for everyone. Also, the 30 nmol/L they say is necessary to confirm ovulation isn’t even standard - my fertility clinic use 20. My LP is very short so I’ve had investigations and done the test a few times. 3dpo and 5dpo are where I’ve caught my peaks. The fertility clinic were happy to confirm ovulation with a result of 19.8 nmol/L at 5dpo.

With a result of 15 I would guess you have ovulated and just missed the peak. There isn’t an established minimum progesterone level needed for pregnancy - in theory any value above 0 will do.

This test is controversial and not always recommended because it can cause unnecessary anxiety and doesn’t give definitive results. If you’re detecting ovulation with OPKs and BBT and have regular-ish cycles you are most likely ovulating. Don’t give up hope yet.
