Ladies who've fallen pregnant more than once...
has each implantation and pregnancy felt the same or different?

After one pregnancy and MC I wonder if I fell pregnant again would I feel the same signs to know for sure....

Thank you

I've felt different each time. I've had three mc (over a large space of time) and one successful pregnancy.

I knew immediately with two of the early losses, one other I didn't know I was pregnant when I miscarried (in a hostel in South East Asia) and for my successful pregnancy I didn't find out until I was a week late for my period and I had no symptoms until I was about 6.5 weeks along.

Hope that helps!

doodledeedum · 09/08/2021 17:31

@BaronessOfTheNorth thank you. I find it interesting and reassuring all the same because I think if I am implanting and getting pregnant I keep thinking the worst as I'm not feeling the same 'feels' and symptoms as last time so it must NOT be happening.
I'm sorry for your losses, thanks for sharing your experience xx

My one successful ivf pregnancy I didn't feel or notice any implantation and trust me I was looking for it

My two "natural" pregnancies the implantation was exactly the same, period type pains and really quite noticeable and dull aches in my thighs 5 days before my period was due, I kept getting period after I missed said period.

doodledeedum · 09/08/2021 17:37

@ajja2021 oh wow that's so unusual to get periods after missed? Have I understood correctly?

OP posts:
BaronessOfTheNorth · 09/08/2021 17:38

@doodledeedum thank you, that's very kind!

Some I have spoken to say they have felt the same each time and some feel different. I've never felt implantation or had implantation bleeding so I wouldn't know.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you x

DelurkingAJ · 09/08/2021 17:42

Different. DS1 I was oblivious (another whose periods continued for a couple of months) and my only symptom (looking back) was that my skin got spottier and I was shattered (but I was working 60 hour weeks so…). DS2 my only symptom was bloating and a sudden desire for banana splits (this was the symptom that caused me to take a pregnancy test as it had been my one craving with DS1…I was 8 weeks pregnant at that point).

doodledeedum · 09/08/2021 19:20

@BaronessOfTheNorth thank you so much 😊

@DelurkingAJ oh wow! I love that! Same cravings .... I am trying to stop symptom spotting and want to relax so knowing each time is different for most feels helpful. Not so rigid.

My first pregnancy was a mmc and my second resulted in my daughter.

In my first, I had extremely sore breasts from 9dpo, though I didn't think to link to pregnancy and test until 12dpo. I never get sore breasts either.

My second, nothing felt different at all until maybe 6 weeks. I only tested at 9dpo because my husband wanted me to. I didn't see the point as I had no tenderness, so it was a total shock.

First pregnancy I never had any twinge. Second, I had quite a strong pain in my lower abdomen between 12-13dpo and I already knew I was pregnant. I thought at the time and still think it was linked to the implantation.

doodledeedum · 10/08/2021 09:03

@Chanel05 thank you for sharing and again reassuring to know it can be different
Oddly my breasts started feeling sore as soon as my missed period. Usually they feel sore in the lead up to one. Mine was missed too, I'm so sorry for your loss x

Strong symptoms from early on for each of my pregnancies.

No implantation anything though to be honest.

All pretty similar.
I found it very unsettling and didn’t help at all with my anxiety and extreme distress.

But, I just figured that it’s Mother Nature, nothing can change/stop/influence/ explain any of it. It’s going to go down whatever path it’s meant to with absolutely zero control by me or anyone.

It is what it is in other words.

ajja2021 · 10/08/2021 09:21

@doodledeedum no sorry!! I meant, I got period pains even after I'd missed my period. No bleeding, just implantation and stretching pains Smile

Excuse my poor explanation

doodledeedum · 10/08/2021 12:17

@imaginethemdragons but were they the same symptoms? Thanks for sharing x

doodledeedum · 10/08/2021 12:18

@ajja2021 no problem at all! See I had period pains and no period so now I'm left wondering each month if it could be the beginning of the same! So unfair that the onset is so similar to both pregnancy and periods

I'm on pregnancy 3 - first was my son, second was MMC and now 30 weeks.

I'd say they have all been similar but not exactly the same, I know I had implantation bleed with my son at 7dpo. Looking back on my 'notes' I had increased appetite and very sore boobs with them all too.

doodledeedum · 10/08/2021 12:35

@Amz6219 thank you.. I'm always hungry, wouldn't be a sign for me lol. Sorry for your loss and so pleased you're on the journey again x thanks for sharing!

Pregnancy with DD2 - I was late for my period and had a small inkling but was SO shocked at a positive test at 5 weeks.

Pregnancy after that - had some serious bloating and sore-ish boobs, but that ended in a miscarriage at 7 weeks.

Currently 18 weeks pregnant - my boobs started hurting 2 days after conception (ridiculous I know) and I just KNEW I was pregnant. Had the strongest symptoms so far of my pregnancies, with morning sickness so bad I had to take cyclizine. Boobs still killing me!! Definitely all very different I would say.

doodledeedum · 10/08/2021 14:05

@hellobigknickers thanks for sharing! I feel so much better for asking now. I'm sorry about your loss also...
tbh it's so wanted that I even enjoyed feeling sick in the mornings last time! Have a fab journey with this one... all the best x

I had weird lower stomachache that lasted for few minutes with my first one, tested the next day and got my faint bfpSmile (it was later diagnosed as missed miscarriage at my 10wks scan).

In my recent cycle (actively ttc for rainbow baby), around 7-9 dpo i had twinge which lasted for few second and i also got cheesy kind of discharge and clear egg white too. These got me pretty sure i might get my bfp soon.

Unfortunately i came on my period despite the symptoms and it kept me wondering if it was really implantation the other day, what could be the reasons why it failed?

Did i do anything wrong to discourage the process? Confused

doodledeedum · 12/08/2021 09:42

@beautifulinitstime I'm so sorry for any losses you've had... wether the second was or wasn't one it's still such a heartache and I'm truly sorry. Please don't think it's ever anything you did or didn't do, not only is it extremely unlikely it's also something that you would never have the answer to so you're only making yourself ill with the worry. I did the same for a brief moment but I know I wanted it so so much more than anything I could have possibly done to discourage the process so it's basically impossible that that's the reason why anything didn't go our way. .... I hope in time you get your rainbow 🌈 baby xxxx thank you for sharing

Dc1 - I just "knew" I was pregnant. Even tested and got a negative- didn't bother me at all. I said to dh "well it will be positive by the weekend and it was! Main early symptoms were very sore boobs and loss of appetite (precursor to morning sickness I think). Also at about 6 weeks quite strong cramps - again, didn't bother me at all for some reason.
Dc2 - no symptoms pre-bfp. Again, some cramping around 5-6 weeks and then nauseau kicked in.
3 - loss. Nothing. Zilch. Got a positive test and then very mild nausea that had gone by 7 weeks. No cramps, nothing. Started bleeding at 11 weeks and miscarried naturally. Didn't really get any cramps until the bleeding was quite heavy so I knew it was over anyway.
Current pregnancy- the painful boobs came back with a vengeance! I did suspect I was pregnant due to twinges that weren't period related and felt "pregnant-y" and tested early to get a very faint line. Again, cramps which had me running to the loo convinced I was miscarrying for the first 12 weeks. Sickness kicked in around 6 weeks. Now 25w pregnant and fingers crossed everything has looked OK so far!

doodledeedum · 12/08/2021 10:06
