Hcg blood test level 7 but positive pregnancy test

I'm a bit confused and wondered if anyone could shed any light.

I had a mmc and surgical management on 09 June. After 3 weeks I was still getting a strong positive test so I was scanned at the EPU who confirmed there was no remaining tissue. Since then they have been monitoring my hcg levels weekly. I had them done last on Thursday and I also did a pregnancy test that morning. The test still showed a faint positive. When I got the results back, the hospital told me my hcg was at 7.

I'm confused as to why I'm still getting positive pregnancy tests when my hcg is lower than the threshold of the pregnancy tests? I've used a FRER and boots test strips loads before which I have never had evap lines with before and have always been so reliable. Does the hcg remain longer in urine than in blood? This is my secondly loss and I just want my body to get back to normal now so I can TTC again.

Some tests are really sensitive. I think easy@home can reliably detect 10 MIU/ml. It's not black/white though - it will still pick up hCG at lower concentrations, possibly enough to show a faint pink line.

I had a chemical pregnancy after ivf and on my first beta hcg my level was 5.2 but I had a faint positive frer test that morning. It then got progressively darker, showing on 25miu tests. On the morning of my final beta hcg test I had a super faint positive but my bloody hcg was less than 2. So my conclusion is that tests are sensitive and can pick up residual hcg.

With my first miscarriage, I didn't have hcg bloods but was testing my hcg out and I had a faint positive on a 25miu test and ovulated around the same time. X
