I hope you ladies can help….. I had an early miscarriage (1st July). I bled for around 5 days and had a negative pregnancy test a couple of days after.

I ovulated around 18th July (peak shown on CB test) and I got a bfp 9dpo. I’m currently 13dpo and getting, what I would say, are strong positives. I’m testing multiple times per day and just cannot shake the feeling that I will miscarry again because it’s so soon!

Does anyone know if early/strong bfps make a difference to chances of chemical? Will my lining be recovered enough to sustain this pregnancy?

I know I’m asking the impossible, but any experience/knowledge would really help!

Also, is it possible to upload pics of my tests on this site?!

I can't help with the strength of the line thing, but my 2nd was conceived with no gap after a miscarriage. Miscarried 16th January, BFP 14th February. He's 2.5 now and the pregnancy was absolutely fine.

Best of luck and lots of sticky dust!

Thank you @entrytohr . Congratulations on your lovely boy. Smile Did you have any extra scans or blood tests? Did you bleed at all during the pregnancy?

Same here - miscarriage at 12 weeks 1st feb positive pregnancy test 1st March - he's 31 now.

entrytohr · 02/08/2021 20:15

I did bleed, but I did with my eldest son too. For some women it can be a normal part of pregnancy unfortunately! I paid privately for extra scans but had nothing additional on the NHS. No blood tests until my booking appointment and then nothing more than I would otherwise have had! I've found that it's fairly hands off once you're actually pregnant, though that doesn't help to ease the anxiety. I did read while pregnant that HCG tends to be higher in a pregnancy following a miscarriage so can cause darker lines but no idea how true it is!

MushMonster · 02/08/2021 20:21

Is all this testing easing your anciety or actually making you feel worse?
You need to calm down, enjoy your pregnancy. I know! Easier said than done. But you must rest, eat well, and try to keep calm. That would help your pregnancy.

31?! Amazing! @tass1960 Smile I think it just worried me because the EPU said I shouldn’t try again for a few cycles.

@entrytohr I think I will end up paying for a private scan, if I get that far, but would like to try to get a blood test through my GP…. My hcg levels were very low before my miscarriage so it kind of prepared me for the worst.

@MushMonster I know, you’re right! I just can’t stop myself at the moment! The lines have got darker each day so it’s helping me at the moment but obviously if that stops, I’ll be a wreck! I want to enjoy every minute (because this will probably be my last baby) but feel that the excitement has been taken away from me. I won’t even check my due date or download pregnancy apps or anything like before!

I don't think EPU existed then -my GP told me that at a 4 week review however it was too late happily

entrytohr · 02/08/2021 22:47

The waiting is more to let your hormones settle and cycles recover as it makes dating the pregnancy easier. Or that's what I was told when I mentioned being worried about the same thing!

Eventually the lines will get lighter and you'll panic, just as a warning! There's a point at which there's too many hormones for it to register. It's really scary if you're not aware of it! I'd also avoid those with the week calculation, they're known for being inaccurate so not worth the stress if the weeks they show don't calculate right! Mine were always behind and I got really worried about it x

BryonyHarley · 03/08/2021 07:24

Thanks so much @entrytohr. I had no idea about the lines getting lighter! That’s really interesting and helpful to know. I did wonder about the clearblue tests-if they worked perfectly it would be a good way to check the progress but I wasn’t sure how accurate they are. I think I will keep away from them just in case. Thank you for your replies and info Smile x

TW. Miscarriage mentioned and pregnancy.

Hi guys. Just asking if anyones had anything similar - bad or good endings.

We miscarried at 12 weeks 3 weeks ago - i had surgery and my bleeding stopped the next day (20th of December)

Me and my partner have been sexually active since the 27th (soon for some i know but going on to try again is the only thing seeming to get us through this)

I had a negative test 14 days after the miscarriage - Fast forward to last night and today i’ve had very faint positives, two at home and one at the doctors (i did one because i had what felt like implantation pain) - i have NO idea whats going on but the GP doctor has referred me back to EPAU.

They said one of two things, the negative was false and my HCGs are still coming down OR a very very very early new pregnancy.

I have a scan on friday to confirm whether there was anything left from the surgery still causing a positive (which is unlikely) and a blood test to see my HCGs.

Has anyone experienced this before? Surely its way way too soon to know if i’m pregnant again? And surely they would know if they left something behind and i would have had other symptoms like infection etc if this was the case? So a possible false negative and HCGs coming down i reckon?

Beyond confused and this glimmer of hope of a new pregnancy or the horror of something still being there from the miscarriage is going to feel like i’ve lost the baby twice if its a bad outcome.

I wish waited for my first cycle but i am so desperate for a baby and i can’t think of anything else.

Please no judgement just similar stories if any?

Thankyou i am so confused :(

Pictured is last night and todays test.
