Is this a chemical pregnancy?

TTC #2 I took a first response test the day AF was due, faint positive. 3 days later I had light bleeding, light pink when I wiped and a small amount of brown blood on a pad (sorry TMI), this happened during my first pregnancy which resulted in my DD.
The bleeding stopped after 2 days, I took another test at this point and it was negative.
It's been 2 days since the bleeding has stopped and tests are still negative, I'm assuming I'm no longer pregnant.
Has anyone been through similar who can share their experience? Should I now expect to have a normal, heavy period? When do I class my next cycle as starting?
I would like to know what to expect.

Not sure if this is helpful but I've had two chemicals that I'm aware of. The first I had light bleeding which went straight into what was more like AF and ovulated again 17 days after the heavy bleeding started. The second Im currently experiencing. I've had positives and then cramping and loss of symptoms so retested and now clear negative. I haven't had any bleeding at all so far so now wondering the same as you, when will I get an AF and when am I likely to ovulate again.

Hi Mummytoolive thanks for sharing. I'm so sorry for your previous loss and what you're experiencing now. You've given me some reassurance that what's going with me is common. Knowing that we can try again is the only positive I have in this situation and not knowing when I'm going to ovulate is frustrating. I've never been in a position where I've wished AF would arrive before!

@WTFUterus it is unfortunately very common and also extremely rare to be reoccurring so hopefully it will happen to us soon. I think Af should show up within a week and then we're back in the game. Do you normally track ovulation?

mummytoolive · 31/07/2021 11:49

@WTFUterus there's 2% chance of a chemical happening 2 months in a row.
That's supposed to say hopefully it will happen FOR us soon.

WTFUterus · 31/07/2021 12:12

That statistic is promising, hopefully we both get our BFP that sticks soon!
I track my ovulation loosely, I don't check my temperature but I use an app to track my cycle and its pretty accurate based on my CM. Wish I tracked it more intensely now so I'd have a better idea of what is going on.
Do you?

I don't temp but I do use the clear blue digital ovulation tests. My problem this month was I tested from 10 days after ovulation instead of just waiting for my period to be late. If I hadn't have tested early I would be unaware of the loss which I'd much rather be. Gonna try really hard not to test early next time

mummytoolive · 31/07/2021 17:23

@WTFUterus I've started spotting this afternoon and having bad abdo cramps now so counting this as day 1 of my next cycle.

WTFUterus · 31/07/2021 18:26

I'm going to try and not test until I'm a few days late. Like you say I would prefer not to know.
How long has it been since your tests turned negative? It's been 3 days for me.
I'm glad you can offically say you can start again, good luck this month!

I had a negative digital on Wednesday but a positive FRER and a negative FRER this morning. How long are your cycles normally?

WTFUterus · 01/08/2021 19:10

My first negative was on Wednesday, I'll keep waiting for AF, my cycles are usually 30 days long and like clockwork.
Besr of luck mummytoolive

And to you 😘

Hi ladies,
I know this is a month old but I'm hoping you can give me advice.
I got BFP on 27/8 CD27. It was faint so tested again 28th and got a nice strong line. Tested with a different brand on 30th and still nice and strong.
Last night I got really bad cramping, I could just tell something was wrong. Now it's just like normal AF pain. Tested this morning and it's still strong BFP but I think slightly fainter.
How soon did your BFP turn to BFN?

mummytoolive · 01/09/2021 14:35

@Winxttc cramping in early pregnancy can be normal. Try stick to the same brand if you're looking for progression but I imagine it will take a couple of days to be obvious if it is getting fainter.
I really hope things are all ok for you. Lots of luck 🍀

Winxttc · 01/09/2021 15:46

@mummytoolive thank you for your response. So since this morning, I have had light brown spotting that has turned into what I think is AF.
Sadly seems to Definately be chemical, just had some hope with such a strong BFP this morning. I new the cramping last night wasn't good, it was such a strong pain that I cried straight away because I just new :(

mummytoolive · 01/09/2021 16:06

@Winxttc so sorry you're experiencing this xx

WTFUterus · 01/09/2021 16:10

So sorry @winxttc xx

Hi, I'm back again.
So I went into work yesterday thinking I was over the worst. How wrong was I.
I came home after an hour.
I have crippling left sided pain.... the pain gets so intense that I burn up and vomit. Bleeding is still not as much as I would expect and very dark brown.
I went to GP to see if they can rule out ectopic and I was told it's too early to be an ectopic?
I can only get comfortable sat up with my knees up.... I managed to fall asleep eventually last night but I'm awake early and still in a lot of pain just on left side.
I was only 4 weeks 4 days so I thought it would just be a normal period/ chemical.
But I'm suffering so much more than I did when I miscarried at 9 weeks. ( that was 12 years ago)
Anyone suffer this bad with a chemical ?

Hiya, I'm a bit late on this.. I had a mmc last year at 7w and experienced nothing - had a d&c unfortunately. In May this year I got a positive pregnancy test at 3w5d - I just KNEW I was pregnant. The worry was there of course. At 4 w5d I had some spotting. I rang my partner in a panic - once you have experienced bleeding you know it can't be good right?! Phoned my Dr who tried to reassure me, it wasn't heavy , no cramping. The next day the pain was horrid and bleeding more like heavy period (my periods are never heavy) that night I took a test and was negative 😪. Lots of love to you xx

mummytoolive · 12/09/2021 07:14

@Ladea2013 sorry this happened to you x
