I have read a lot of forums about women asking about ovulation post miscarriage and I thought i will share my story here if it helps anyone. Especially when it is very different from the standard google answer of 'ovulation can happen in 2 weeks after miscarriage'.
I miscarried at 9 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks) on May 29th through induced medication. This was my second pregnancy and i have a 3.5 years old son. We conceived on first try both times and i am now 34. Dr tracked down my HCG through blood work and it took almost 5 weeks to come down from level of 45000 to level of 2. I started tracking ovulation when HCG hit 20 on cd27 when I also got the first negative pregnancy test. I used clear-blue digital OPK. Finally, after a very long wait, i got the solid smiley on CD38 and based on ovulation cramps, i think i ovulated on CD39 and now I am in TWW at 2dpo (my dr allowed us to try again after HCG drops). I did not get proper period since miscarriage but i spotted for 4 days in between. Normally my period is always 30-32 days and i never used OPKs before.
It has been a painful and long experience. Miscarriage alone is physically and emotionally draining and on top this whole process of tracking and waiting is very painful. I hope that with ovulation happening, i will either get my period in the next 12-14 days or a BFP. I will keep you posted.
My sincerest best wishes to all of you who are also trying to conceive, with or without prior loss. May you get your baby soon.
