Please help - desperate for advice on TTC with husband who works away

Hi everyone,
Im 31, healthy & have a beautiful 9YO DD and we decided in December that we wanted to have another child.

We got straight to it and fell pregnant at the end of May but sadly I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago at 5+2 which was heart breaking and I once again found comfort in this forum Flowers

However, we were hoping to be straight back TTC.. but my MC has set my cycle back 1 week-ish.

I have 28 day cycles and ovulate around day 14. Usually like clockwork!

My husband works away 1 week on 1 week off.. and he was always home for Ovulation week. And now he is going to be away every single time I am fertile and ovulating.

Since working all this out today I have cried and cried and sobbed and googled and I just don't know what to do.

Can anybody offer any advice on this subject? Has anybody overcome this? Is there any way the Dr's or Gynaecology can help? I just don't know where to start. It feels like the worst luck in the world, especially after MC Sad

Xx

That’s a tough situation OP. There’s a tablet which delays your period, otherwise you could you take the pill for a week and delay it. Either of those could mess up your cycle a little but I guess that is what you actually want at this point.

Sperm can survive for up to 7 days, so DTD before he leaves.

Alternatively, you can do self insemination

@Hopefulhedgehog I am going to call GP in the morning see if I can have a phone appointment for some advice. I thought about the period delay tabs but I wasn't sure if they would delay ovulation too?
I cant bare the thought of going on the pill even for a few months lol it feels like a step back in time to when I was 16 Wink
I had the Copper coil in for 9 years! Haha.

@Screamingcowboy99 we are usually do so hopefully that might work.. I thought it was only 5 days it survived. It then goes down to quality of the sperm etc. I really hope it will work for us! I have thought about self insemination but again.. where do I begin with that. Are there sperm banks in the UK that will freeze DH sperm and then release it to me when I need it for me to self inseminate at home?

Just can't believe we were so on track clockwork every month and then unlucky with the MC and now its knocked all our timings out.. if I didn't have bad luck I'd have none at all lol
