Very faint BFP but hardly any symptoms??

Just need some advice/reassurance really! I’m between 8dpo-10dpo (OPKs threw me off a bit in terms of when I actually ovulated this month) and took a FRER this morning. A second faint pink line turned up within the first minute of testing. It’s pretty faint but unmistakeably there. I’ve been trying for a while now and have never got a BFP so I’m feeling excited and anxious at the same time.

AF isn’t due for another few days but I’m worrying about the fact that I have ZERO symptoms aside from bloating and strange cramps that have started today. Is it possible to get a false positive like this on a FRER? Im worried I might be getting excited too early…

I didn't have any symptoms until I was 6 weeks. Congratulations!

Congratulations, I never got any symptoms until 6ish weeks also with both ds1 & ds2. But Congratulations 💜

The only symptom I had before 6 weeks and before AF would have been due was sore sides of my boobs! Bloating and bad nausea started at about 6 weeks

Thank you all so much for replying! It’s made me feel so much better to hear that you had no symptoms before six weeks. I think that because we’ve been trying for a while without even a hint of a BFP, that it just can’t be real!

I understand this Thanks. My dd was 18 months in the making. However, she's now a very real, very loud, very energetic 9 month old! Enjoy this moment Smile

So I couldn’t help myself and tested again just now with FMU. A 2nd pink line came up again almost instantly but it’s fainter than yesterday’s. Should I be worried this is the start of a chemical? Ill be anywhere between 9-11dpo today. I’ve attached a pic and the top is the one I took yesterday and the bottom the one I took just now. Sorry the pic quality isn’t very good but both lines look very pink in real life x

Was the other test also with fmu? You need to do the same each time for direct comparison. If it was then yes unfortunately the lightening does suggest this could be a chemical

I did two yesterday one with FMU the other with evening urine and I’m unsure which one the top one is. If it’s the evening one would that make a difference? I’ve got one more FRER so I don’t know whether to test again with SMU or later on or just leave it for now

Also something else I noticed with the test I took this morning was that the control line went white first then pink whereas on the tests I took yesterday the control lines went pink right away. Could it be there’s less dye in the one I did today? Sorry really sounds like I’m clutching at straws here but desperate for this to stick!

My FMU tests were always the lightest of the day. SMU or afternoon/evening has always been much darker for me, in both my last successful pregnancy and my current new one. I wouldn't panic too much, even between tests of the same brand there can be variability of line darkness.

Milly238 · 03/07/2021 07:55

Thanks @Elune thats really interesting that your FMU was lightest! Did you test with the same brand?

I’ve just had another look at the tests I’ve taken. The one I took this morning has now dried and is exactly the same darkness as one of the ones from yesterday (really wish I labelled them or something so I could work out which was from the evening and which from morn) so fx all is ok! I’m gonna try my absolute best and hold off from testing again until tomorrow afternoon maybe.

Hi, its very unlikely to get a false positive, so as a rule a line is a line congratulations! FRER tests have always been very reliable for me.
I have no symptoms till around 6-7 weeks pregnant then severe morning sickness, sore boobs, and im on my 4 pregnancy, but everyone is different, a lot of women have symptoms as though they are coming on their period, mild cramps even a small bleed called implantation bleeding, try not to worry too much and enjoy it xx

Milly238 · 03/07/2021 18:22

@mummysparkles95 thank you! Flowers I have actually had a few more symptoms today like very sore boobs and cramping (almost like pulling) and got a clear positive on a clearblue early detection so fx this is a sticky bean!! X
