Hello, this is my first post and im quite nervous so please be kind :)

Myself and my partner are aged 40 (me) and 41 and have decided to try for a baby. Knowing its probably our last chance.

I have 2 kids to previous partner aged 20 & 21, partner has a 21 year old daughter. Hes had fertility tests in past and been told hes got nothing wrong with him. I stopped my pill yesterday.

I work for myself so also wont have to worry about child care this time around. which is obviously a bonus.

I know this can be difficult at my age, so im hoping to join a group to get tips and support. Im really scared (potential aged related health compliations) but excited at the idea of having a child to my partner.

Ive bought ovulation tests after reading through all your posts and pregnancy tests. Ive been on pill for a long time so have no idea what my cycle will be like or how long it will take to go back to normal.

Any advice or tips. Im ready for the pain to begin my periods have always been awful :(

Thanks N xx

Hello OP, in a similar boat. I'm TTC too! I've started taking conception vitamins in preparation.
I'm hopeful it will happen soon as I know of lots of ladies who have become pregnant at 40 and beyond and had healthy pregnancies. My grandmother had my auntie at 45! I try to think positive even though I know it can be more difficult a this age. Wishing you luck

Hi OP, I think NHS advises to let GP know straight away if you are 40 or older and ttc. That way you can get help early if you need it. Best of luck.
