Hi all,

I am totally new to this so please bear with me.

I have been feeling incredibly sick for the last week, having quite severe period like pains and very sore boobs as well.

I took a test on Tuesday but got a BFN. Is it possible to have all these symptoms before I get positive result. I want to rule our pregnancy before I go to the doctor to see what else it coulbe if that makes sense!

I am also on cerazette which has totally stopped my periods so I can't use that to help! I have missed loads of pills recently though.

any help would be very much appreciated

Thanks

H

I am going to go the doctors this afternoon to discuss what is going on and I I will ask if i can have a blood test. Still feel as if am preggers, even feel more sick today, but left hand side pain still there, am paranoid about ectopic pregnancy!

maviscrewit · 19/12/2007 14:02

Good luck Woose. As you can see from previous posts I had all my usual pregnancy symptoms and two faint positive tests. But after second faint positive I felt it wasn't right as I thought the line would have got stronger. Still had all my usual symptoms though. A few days later more painful cramps started and I started to bleed heavily. I took another test which was negative so I knew the game was up. I am convinced I had a very early miscarriage and I knew I was pregnant although felt mad at the time. Not a very positive story for you I'm afraid but just to let you know you are not alone in what you are going through and I hope its more positive for you.

wessexgirl · 19/12/2007 14:08

There's a lot of us in this boat, aren't there? I'm the same - all the symptoms but can't test accurately till Friday.

Woose, is it worth getting checked at surgery? Some ectopic pregnancies aren't picked up by preg tests, and abdominal pain can be a symptom.

I don't want to worry you, of course, but it might be an idea to rule it out. Best of luck.

wessexgirl · 19/12/2007 14:09

Oop, x post, woose. Fingers still crossed for you.

yellowbean · 19/12/2007 14:18

good luck woose.

yellowbean · 19/12/2007 14:29

it is rubbish, am sure its a money thing. they know i'll either get a period or keep testing myself. of course hcg can be detected now... cant stand being treated like an idiot

wessexgirl · 19/12/2007 14:30

Sounds like we'll both be doing the wee-on-a-stick thing on Friday then, welshprincess . Good luck with it .

yellowbean · 19/12/2007 14:32

i'll be peeing on a stick friday too... assuming period dont arrive before then. Do you ladies normally get nausea before a period? i feel like i'm going mad

wessexgirl · 19/12/2007 14:37

No, I've never had nausea before a period - PMT, but I haven't got that right now...interesting, eh?

welshprincess · 19/12/2007 15:13

yay for those peeing on sticks on friday!
never had nausea before period.
got fingers crossed for us all.

Hi all
Thanks for support. Just got back from Doctor and was a complete waste of time. The doctor I saw I had not seen before and he was the worst doctor I have ever been to. Firstly he did not listen to a word I said about the pain in my left side, the pregnant symptoms, the negative test last Sunday and how I am 8 days over my period date. He just ignored all this and said he it was probably irritable bowel syndrome. I have never had this and I know that is not what is wrong. He said I may have been 'vaguely pregnant' but that it has probably just gone away. What is he on!!! The minute I saw him I thought I don't even know I can tell you all the things that had happened to me. He was very unsympathetic about the miscarriage i had. I left the room crying. I tried to make another appointment with a different doctor but I have to wait until tomorrow to do that. I just feel terrible now and don't know what to do. I feel so angry that these doctors get paid so much money and then they just treat their patients like a piece of s**t

welshprincess · 19/12/2007 16:30

oh woose
that is awful, i mean wtf!
irritable bowel thats a new one. any women with abdo pain and late period needs to be taken seriously. hope you get to see a proper doc tomorrow. are you feeling upto a little complaint to the practice manager?
it is so wrong that you left there in tears, how insenstive. im and for you.
sending best wishes.

woose · 19/12/2007 17:02

I think I might complain. I have just found that since having the mc midwives and doctors have been quite insensitive. Even though it was an early mc at 6 weeks it still hurt and the pregnancy still feels very real. I just don't understand why you cannot be taken seriously. Sometimes I feel cross with myself because I wasn't forceful enough or didn't ask the right questions.

The doctor I saw today said that if the pain in my abdomen was an ectopic pregnancy then it would have ruptured within 24 hours. and I have had this pain for about 2 weeks.

I shall be weeing on a stick again next week though just to find out for sure.

woose · 19/12/2007 17:21

Mavis
Very sorry about your experience. I hope you get a positive soon.
Take care

yellowbean · 19/12/2007 21:27

woose.. very definately worthy of complaint. can you contact your epu... did you go to them last time? your doctor has treated you very babdly. how are you feeling now? still got pain. if its getting worse please you back to the doc or even a and e... you are justified in worrying about ectopic. your pains could be settling in pains though? they can be pretty painful too...

woose · 19/12/2007 22:12

I am going to try and see another doc tomorrow. The pains are less now, so that is good. My DH agrees that I should say something to the practice manager at the surgery about rubbish doc. The more time goes on the more I hope Iam pregnant. This is bad because then I will be more disappointed if I am not. Yelowbean, did you get your af, or are you still waiting? Are you still feeling you are pregnant?

yellowbean · 19/12/2007 22:23

still no af but think earliest i'm due would be friday. still getting period like cramps so wouldnt be surprised if af turns up. likee you, the longer it goes on the more i hope its bfp. i still feel sick and tired and have strange taste. we weren't trying but i feel so pregnant it would be a disappointment now if i werent... well for me anyway, dh doesnt want more children

woose · 19/12/2007 22:39

We weren't trying either, for the mc or this time. My DH is just scared. He likes to have things all planned out like life is a military operation and this uncertainty is freaking him out. I really want another babe. For my friends the second ones are starting to arrive and I want my ds to have a brother or sister. I am soooo impatient though!

yellowbean · 20/12/2007 20:58

hope everyone is okay... own up, who got impatient and tested today? hows everyone feeling?

woose · 20/12/2007 23:13

Well I am feeling a bit happier because I went to see a different doc today and she was great and apologised for the treatment I had yesterday. She has sent off a sample to be tested, but wont get a result until Monday. She thought that the pains I am getting may because I didn't infact ovulate this month and the ovary was causing pain as a result. Not sure about that really. Debating whether or not to drink this weekend. Think I will have a glass though. Does anyone else have any more news?

wessexgirl · 20/12/2007 23:18

Very pleased you had a nicer doctor, woose. 'Vaguely pregnant' ffs. What an arsehole.

I've been really patient and held off testing today. I have been for a wee about eighteen times though - has to mean something, surely?

Tomorrow is Test Day! Typically, dh is off for a post-work Christmas pub-crawl though, so any news might have to wait.

woose · 20/12/2007 23:27

Feel really excited. What a great Christmas present that would be wessexgirl!!

wessexgirl · 20/12/2007 23:29

I know; I'm really having to keep everything clenched not to make a break for the bathroom for that hpt. Argh! Should just go to bed really.

Hope things are going to work out for you too xx.
