Hi @davidrosejumper, I was 38 when we started ttc. I had 4 miscarriages before deciding to start myself on aspirin.
I’d had blood tests and scans with a fertility consultant, all of which came back normal.
After the fourth loss I decided enough was enough. I felt I had nothing left to lose by trying it.
The new nhs recommended dose of aspirin is 150mg daily, so I started taking it on 1dpo.
I then went onto get a bfp at 8dpo. I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant. Right from the start the pregnancy felt different. Instead of the faint lines I was used to seeing, the test lines were strong and progressed perfectly.
A scan with EPU saw a heartbeat at 5+4, something we’d never been lucky enough to see before.
At my booking appointment with the midwife I told her about taking aspirin. She checked with the consultant who said that had I not already been taking it, they’d have started me on it!
I’m still taking it now and have been told by the consultant to continue taking it until nearer birth.
I will never know if it genuinely was the aspirin, but it’s the only thing I changed and did differently.
