Pregnancy tests can be cruel

I am really starting to lose faith in the strip pregnancy tests I took a test this morning and got a pink line within the timeframe. Of course I got excited but I never get my hopes up anymore so I took two more and they both came out negative, from the same urine sample. I wish the pregnancy test for more reliable :(

Has anyone else experienced similar?

I’m sorry, but to my eyes they’re all negative.

I'm assuming the top one is the one you felt was positive? I know it's hard, but you need to wait a little longer. Good luck

Pregnancy tests ARE reliable. It's early testing that isn't. When is your period due?

My period is due tomorrow, I am starting to wonder whether the test was touching an ovulation test (which was positive for some reason) and the dye ran over...

Has anyone else experienced dye bleeding onto a test?

@AnneLovesGilbert due tomorrow but my cycle can be irregular ranging from 33-40 days sometimes :(

@SD1978 yes the top one, if you look at the picture I just added it was a pink line but it wouldn't make sense for one to have that and all the other not to it I was pregnant, so I think I'm just going to accept I'm not!!

IME you get what you pay for those strip tests are pennies and as such are unreliable. My DD took 5 years TTC and a round of IVF and my DS was a surprise 18 months after her birth as we never bothered with contraception as we wanted another but didn't think it possible naturally. I only ever tested when my AF was late as luckily my cycle is regular enough to allow for this and there's no way I could've faced the heartache of looking at negative tests month after month or worse getting my hopes up on so called faint positives.

O can see the line you see but it's SO feint I think you need to wait a couple of days and try again. Fingers crossed for you

@ArtfulScreamer yes you're probably right tbh, it can be so draining. I've never had a baby or been pregnant as far as I know so I don't even know if it's possible for me. You never realise it won't be that straightforward until you start trying!

@SleepingStandingUp thanks, pretty sure it's a false positive tbh, I have seen them on my tests before :(

That’s what my first one looked like 3 days ago, I was putting it in the bin when I thought what’s that…. I tested last night and got a very dark positive line. Just wait a few more days, hope it alll turns out ok for you.

@anotheronettc I don’t feel too hopeful - I’ve had two miscarriages and after that said I can’t do it again… but felt so ill the past few days thought I wld test. I still don’t believe it and won’t let myself either as just fear the worst :(

False positives are really rare though. Did you do all three tests with the same urine sample?

I can see a line in the top one and a hint of one in the bottom one. Wait 2 days and try again!

@Bundaberg84 hi, yes all from first morning urine sample but only one had a line that I could see clearly.

This happened me with the strip tests. I think it's caused by bending the strip when you dip it in the urine. Kick to the gut when you think you're pregnant!

@snowwhite90 I have had at least two definite false positives using strips (that or an early miscarriage) so yeah I imagine this is just the same thing 😓

The ones I got were from Amazon and when I looked up the reviews other people had gotten false positives from bending the strip too

What do you think guys??? I think there is a faint line on this first response test. Which appeared in time. I broke it apart to see! I took another one and it looks the same. Confused though at my BBT is low.
