Faint positive pregnancy tests, then negatives. What's going on?!

Hey I need some help please!

Been having some weird pregnancy test results.

So I took a pregnancy test three days ago and got a very faint positive. Took one that evening and complete negative. Then took one yesterday and again got a very very faint positive..hardly noticeable to be honest but it was there.
But I've taken two today and both have been negativeConfused
I've been staring at them like a mad woman convincing myself I I see something but I really can't.
What is going on?!
Should I just assume they were false positives and move on? I don't know what to do
ThanksSmile

It sounds like you may have been pregnant but it hasn’t continued. Very similar happened to me last cycle (although I had slightly clearer tests for a bit longer) and my AF arrived shortly after negative tests. There are other reasons for a line not developing though, for example, urine concentration. Hopefully it could be something like that and a line may develop? Sorry it’s so rubbish having a positive test and not knowing what’s going on. Take care of yourself!

@Violetr8 do you have photos?

False positives are very rare it may be that you're still early and the negative tests were because you drank more/urine was more diluted.
Or it is possible you had an early loss or it could have been an indent/evap, did it have colour? What test was it? And did it appear in the timeframe?

Thank you for your repliesSmile

Sorry to hear that @GuessHowMuch. Can I ask how soon I would likely bleed after the positive if it is a chemical pregnancy?

I do have photos. I'll attach them. The tests with the positives were acutest-from the co op.
They were very faint so not sure how well they show up to be honest but I saw them for sure! I thought maybe they were evaporation lines but they both showed up within the time frame-a couple of minutes.
Also did a clear blue and a boots-both negative.
It's so confusing. I just want to know!

I can see the lines. I've had two chemicals. One my period came on time. The line only lasted a day or two. The other I had positive tests for several days which then got lighter. I went from a digital 1-2 to not pregnant. I was about 5 weeks when I miscarried.

@Violetr8 I can see something but it's not clear on the picture if it has colour, I had lines on a similar looking test that were bad evaps and even had colour but all other tests were negative so it was the test. If the other tests were early tests and they were negative I'd lean towards it being these tests :(
Can you get an frer to check? They are the most sensitive.
I've had chemical pregnancies every cycle since Christmas. Some I bled before it went negative, some it went negative then I bled, one it went negative but I didn't bleed until the next cp the following month.

🤞🏻 for you that you're just super early I'd definitely try an frer

Thank you so much for the replies and so sorry you've had to go through that.

Maybe I should try a frer but to be honest I'm not holding much hope-just did a clear blue with fmu and got a definite negative. It's been four days since I first got that faint line so I think if I were pregnant it would definitely show up on the clear blue by nowSad
I thought you could only get evaporation lines after the time frame but oh well.
