Ttc after coming off the pill

I came off the pill (cerelle) a few weeks ago and have not had a period yet. Do I need to wait until my period comes back before properly trying or is there a chance of getting pregnant before it comes back? Thanks

You don't need to wait but I think it's sometimes advised because it makes dating a potential pregnancy easier as you'll have a definite LMP if that makes sense? Hth.

That does make sense thank you :)

Hey! I came off microgynon in April after being on it for 13+ years. I had my usual withdrawal bleed 3 days after last pill then 31 days from first day of withdrawal bleed I had my first 'real' period. That was on 14th May, we then had our first month of TTC and yesterday I got my BFP!! Almost can't believe it but it can happen. I fully appreciate I'm very lucky to have had my cycles return like clockwork right away and getting pregnant on the first try. It seems madness but our bodies are incredible! If you do want to go ahead and TTC before your first period then I don't see any reason you shouldn't, however, I would highly recommend using OPK's from the day you finish your withdrawal bleed and keep going until you get a positive. It can feel never ending as I tested from CD10 - CD18 before I got my positive OPK.

Good luck in your TTC journey Thanks

Congratulations that’s great! Just tonight I actually have started bleeding. Thank you good luck for your pregnancy :)

That's great news! So if I were you I'd begin OPK testing (if you plan to) once your period finishes and don't give up until you get your positive OPK Smile That way you'll know when you ovulate and will be really beneficial for the following cycles too.
