I'm in a very strange situation. I've been having internal ultrasound to check follicle growth and see when I will ovulate every 3 days as part of my IUI treatment. I'm currently on day 22 of my cycle and no signs of a dominant follicle in the scans up to now. However in my last scan (at day 21 of my cycle) the doctor said he can see a pregnancy sac measuring around 5mm which was not shown in the previous ultrasounds I did. However, I did a urine pregnancy test and a blood Beta test and both came back negative!
The doctor is a bit confused about my situation - he said it could be possible I had a non viable pregnancy in my last cycle and this could be retained - but if this was the case the sac would have been spotted in previous scans. If it was a pregnancy for my current cycle then he would have expected the blood test to come back positive given the sac size.
He's going to consult with a senior specialist regarding this and get back to me next week.
I'm wondering if anyone else has been in this situation?
