Hi I'm 38 with 2 boys. Iv had endometriosis for over 15 years. I suffered terribly before conceiving my eldest. I had 2 operations before having him to help with the condition. Since having my eldest it's not been much of a problem. I had my implant contraceptive removed last September to start trying for another baby. Since then Iv started to suffer again with the endometriosis. Has anyone got any positive stories with conceiving naturally with it or did anyone get fertility help because of the condition? I'm worried because Iv already got two sons I don't get help x

Hi lovely,

At your age and lack of funding I would immediately try for laparoscopy surgery followed by Pentoxifylline. (doi.org/10.1093/humrep/deaa337)

If they won't allow it, IVF is your best chance as it skips the possible tubal adhesions, failed fertilizations and lack of progesterone.

There is more here on the topic > fertilityscience.org/getting-pregnant-with-endometriosis

Hope that helps you.

Yes I had Stage 4 endometriosis, had surgery to remove it, then had IVF (2 rounds/egg retrieval’s). First attempt was unsuccessful. Froze couple of embryos. Second round unsuccessful, then waited 6mths and then used frozen embryo, this one stuck! Had beautiful baby boy. He is 9 now. 😍. At 38, your chances of conceiving naturally greatly diminish (after age 35 is rapid decline) (by 40, chances drop down to 5%each cycle). Also chances of miscarriage are much higher, and risk of Down syndrome and if older father, higher chance of autism . So I would get started with fertility help as soon as possible to increase you chances of success. Good luck! (PS I had my son at age 41, after several years of fertility and natural treatments).

Thank you. Will I get help from the NHS or do I have to go private? This will be my first child with my new partner and he has no children x
