As title says, this is my 5th month out of 6 of me getting a BFP before getting my period. This is today's. Period hasn't come yet but it will. Nice strong line some might say. Makes no difference I say. Can anyone else relate?

Have you tried a different test brand?

choccrumpet · 26/05/2021 20:42

@porger80 sounds like you've been having chemicals unfortunately. Have you tried other brands to see what they show?

porger80 · 26/05/2021 22:43

Thanks, I haven't tried other brands but I (perhaps foolishly) thought if I tried these at other times of my cycle (when I def get BFNs) then they couldn't be dodgy tests? These lines def aren't evaps.
If it's 5 CPs then there's def something wrong isn't there? That's not just bad luck surely even at 41?

That line is far too strong to be anything other than a bfp so if they have all been like this I would maybe speak to your dr, hope you get is resolved xx

choccrumpet · 27/05/2021 08:50

I'm sorry @porger80 ! You should definitely speak to your doctor and see if you can get investigations done. You should get a referral after 3, and you've had more. I'm not sure about bad luck, I've had multiple myself ( I am 28) and have been given no reason for them yet unfortunately, so far my bloods have come back fine. Just to keep trying. It is frustrating

porger80 · 27/05/2021 10:49

Thanks @choccrumpet, I'm sorry to hear you've been through the same thing. Did you try different brands, are the ICs unreliable in your experience? I am getting (many) false positives? This almost makes more sense than 5 CPs in my mind!

@porger80 I did try different brands, there's a small chance they were all false positives or indents but I think it's unlikely as that would be a lot of false tests. ICs are iffy in my experience, One Steps almost always show a line which is an indent and easy@home seem to work for most people although I got a very very pink line on one recently and it had to be a false positive because other tests dipped into same pee were negative, but the line was so bad it looked like such a clear positive.

I normally start testing with ICs though and move on to other brands if I think I see a line.

Multiple CPs does seem more likely in your case. Like I said earlier they are more common than we realise, than is reported and the only reason we know we have them is because we test early! So although I am having fertility investigations because of them and something else now, all doctors so far have told me not to worry, keep trying etc. When researching I can't find much info about them. It's worth getting some testing done if you can to eliminate potential issues.

GP for referral for recurrent miscarriage tests. It's done by blood tests. I've just had them myself.

5 chemical pregnancies is not normal no.

bitheby · 27/05/2021 11:06

That's not even a faint line. I didn't get a line that strong when I got to 5 weeks.

porger80 · 27/05/2021 16:27

@bitheby did you get anything helpful from the results? If you don't mind me asking.

I don't know yet. The (fucking) lab took it upon themselves to decide that one of the tests was unnecessary. They made a massive assumption that a thyroid check had been requested due to 'unexplained tiredness' and so didn't bother to run the test. My GP practice is currently arguing with the lab to get them to run the test or I need to arrange a new blood test.

Once I have the full results back I'll send them up to the fertility clinic.
