Skipping May ttc because of vaccine

I'm 38 and will turn 39 in a few months. We have agreed to stop trying when I turn 39. There are lots of reasons why we came to that decision. This month will be my second proper cycle ttc.

I live abroad and have been told that I will have my covid vaccine soon. It will be within the next few weeks but dont have a date yet.

I'm due to ovulate in 1 week and dont like the idea of having it in early pregnancy. So that means I have to skip this month. I'm feeling a bit miffed as I feel a bit under time pressure and each month we dont try is a wasted egg. Anyway, there is no way around it and it's for the best probably, but i just wanted a rant!

Given your timeline, I'd be tempted to try anyway. Theres no proof the vaccine is harmful. I agree it is so frustrating - covid19 impacting on everything!

@TheDaydreamBelievers my concern is more with having a fever as a side effect in early pregnancy. It can be harmful to the baby. My husband burned like a rocket leaving the atmosphere after his! It's just so frustrating!

@Anonapapple the average time to conceive at your age is around 10 months so honestly I don't think you can afford to miss May out if you're only on cycle 2 and only have a couple more months to try.

I had my vaccine and got pregnant straight after. No problem. I only felt unwell for 1 about 12 hours then was fine again. I wouldn't miss it if I were you in case this is your month - you'll kick yourself later.

Thanks everyone. We will resume ttc in June!
