Easy@home. False positive? Have you had an evap this dark with them?

Has anyone had these with a dark evap? Sure, they're usual shiny evaps. But this seems more than a shadow. For afternoon pee at 9 dpo. It came up straight away. I'm thinking false positive. There's no way this is real.

I had the squintiest squinter ever this morning, but a shade darker than the usual evaps, which is why I thought I'd hold and test again.

One with flash, one without, I haven't messed with any filters.

Easy @ home are usually very reliable I would say this is a positive OP. Congrats 😊

VixFromThe6ix · 18/05/2021 14:32

I've had good luck with easy@home tests, op. To me, that looks positive! Congratulations!!

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 15:19

@SemiFeralDalek I've just tested using easy@home and one step and a frer, the last 2 are negative but got a line on easy@home, really confused as I've just had my period.. thinking it must be false but I've also never had a line on it before..

How many dpo are you @choccrumpet? X

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 15:42

@extrababydust123 I thought I was cd5 (new cycle) as I had a 4 day period that ended yesterday... but it was lighter than normal. So if it's not a new cycle then I'm 16dpo. The tests were done using same pee, not much hold in the middle of the day and I've been drinking lots of water all day. My period came on time as expected after an 11 day luteal phase which seems to be the norm for me

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 15:44

Sorry should have said, I think our lines look similar @SemiFeralDalek . Are you going to test again?

VixFromThe6ix · 18/05/2021 15:44

@choccrumpet that's interesting! Looking at the easy@home test, that line is kind of too much to the left... I looked at the picture of my positive ones and they are a bit closer together. Maybe it's something else that's causing the line...either way, made me raise my brow for sure as it's so strong 😯

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 15:51

@VixFromThe6ix I know what you mean and that could be the case although I've been testing for 9 months and never had anything like it! I'm leaning towards it being a false test. It's very strange. Will just have to test again and see what that shows 🤯

SemiFeralDalek · 18/05/2021 15:52

I had promised myself I wasn't going to test but I had itchy nips 😭😂

I've ordered some different tests and will see how my temp goes. But it's certainly incredibly early if it was a positive so we'll see. Amazon reviews do suggest they have quite a high percentage of false positives. Thanks everyone, I'm keeping my fingers tentatively crossed for now.

@choccrumpet that certainly is weird. I can see a shadow on the one step and the easy@home there's no mistaking. FRERs have gone to shit recently I think. Can you get any different brand ones?

@choccrumpet @VixFromThe6ix now you’ve said that I’ve just had another look and it definitely looks further left than it should be even compared to OP’s line, maybe faulty? 🤔

VixFromThe6ix · 18/05/2021 15:59

@choccrumpet but it's so dark! Like I have no idea what else it could be... Gosh, if I got that dark of line I'd be thinking pregnant for suuuure lol. Try testing with weeks indicator ones, see if they pick up anything. 🤞🤞🤞

VixFromThe6ix · 18/05/2021 16:01

@extrababydust123 with seeing all these false lines on many posts, I got a second pregnancy test kit to have both easy@home and this other one. Plus the expensive ones to test later in the cycle. It's hard enough waiting for that line, we don't need no false positives/evaps/dye runs. 🙄🙄

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 16:03

@SemiFeralDalek I give into the testing 😅 fingers crossed for you! I've got Tesco ones so may try those.. I got a line on it before my period though and assumed it was false as the reviews weren't great. Feeling like it's hard to trust any home test nowadays.

@extrababydust123 good idea, I can see the difference now. I've found that there can be slight line differences between different tests, it's obviously different here though. Will just have to test again. I've never seen it go so pink and fairly dark on these so quickly was so shocked to see it. But going by the others there's clearly something not right

Definitely same here! If I got a line that dark I wouldn't even question it! You must be hugely frustrated choccrumpet.

@SemiFeralDalek it's the second time this cycle that I'm seeing a line so mentally and physically (or so I thought) I had moved on to my next cycle! So I just want it over with now tbh, to know either way. I'd be quite happy if it was a negative. I just want to know for sure! I thought I knew for sure until I decided to "double check" and test 🤣

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 17:25

Definitely negative. It must have been a faulty test. How shocking was that line though 😱 how can I trust a test again..

I'd honestly email with a picture of your tests together and complain, that's such a head fuck for you! Especially as you'd mentally and emotionally moved forward!

My FRERs arrived and I thought I'd see what happened. I got a faint line on an easy@home and this on the frer.

So we'll see what happens and if this one progresses and is healthy. We had a loss 6 months ago at 21+4 and we've still not really got our heads round the horror of that yet.

@choccrumpet I cannot believe that, that’s so bad! It has really put me off using my easy@home’s.. how horrible for you 😞 I hope you’re okay and get your bfp very soon x

choccrumpet · 18/05/2021 19:03

@SemiFeralDalek congratulations!! I'm happy you got your positive, fingers crossed everything goes okay for you. 🤗

Emailing them is not a bad idea! We've had a lot of chemical losses so it is hard going back and forth but I think I've managed to detach myself from this situation so am feeling okay about it.

@extrababydust123 thank you I'm okay, felt too good to be true! I'll be taking every brand with a pinch of salt going forward, they all seem to have false tests, so hard to know which ones to believe

justwant2beamum · 18/05/2021 19:21

Congrats @SemiFeralDalek

I use easy at home hcg strips all the time snd I find them quite reliable. I've never had a shadow/Evap/false positive XX

extrababydust123 · 18/05/2021 19:21

@SemiFeralDalek I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, I can’t even imagine 😔 I have everything crossed for you that you have a happy, healthy pregnancy ❤️
