Cold water sea swimming and TTC

Hi

I started sea swimming in November. My accupuncturist said that she would not advise me to sea swim when trying to conceive as it will make it more difficult. However I sea swim for mental health reasons and am reluctant to quit. Has anyone else conceived when they were sea swimming

On what basis would sea swimming make it harder to conceive?!
Have you had issues TTc? I’d ignore unfounded and unscientific opinion and crack on and try.

Your acupuncturist should stick to acupuncture, of course sea swimming won't affect ttc.

I am in no way medically qualified so this is just speculation but I would have thought it helped rather than hindered!
As well as mental health benefits it's often recommended for physical ailments so if it's good for you overall would being in good physical and mental shape not make you more likely to conceive?
Completely anecdotally my grandmother lived by the sea and had a neighbour who swam in the Atlantic nearly every day of her life...she had 11 children so didn't seem to affect her!

Acupuncturists are a bit obsessed with heat so I expect it’s the cold she wants you to avoid. Staying sane, happy and healthy is important during TTC so I would keep it up if you enjoy it

Thanks you , love to hear that! It's the cold water she's worried about! But I'm swimming in the Irish sea. The Atlantic would be even colder
