Late period - covid vaccine?

I normally have a 28-31 day cycle and I am currently 6 days late. I have never been late since coming off the pill a long time ago. All tests are negative. No symptoms of AF or anything. I had the covid vaccine day 12 of my cycle and wondering if it is that?

Has anyone had the vaccine (I had the Pfizer one) and had it change your cycle?

I had the moderna vaccine on the 5th may and I'm currently waiting for a BFP, according to the app I use I'm 3 or 4 days late with AF but have tested negative so far. I might be pregnant but I also feel a bit crampy so I'm a bit confused too!

I had the Astra Zeneca and my cycle has been screwed since. Normally very pro vax, but now doubting whether to have 2nd jab. But someone will be along in a minute to tell you how selfish you are for 'scaremongering'.

I am the same. I wasn't going to get it but then thought well I'm struggling to get pregnant and don't really want to put it off. Didn't think there would be anything bad about it but it's made me miserable to know that my period is so late which is totally unusual. I just want to be able to move onto the next cycle. I have read quite a lot and it appears to have a 1-3 month affect with a small number of folk so I guess that's me! Hoping it's not more than a months upset to the cycle! Thank you for sharing!!

I have decided I'm not getting the 2nd one until cycle is back to normal and another few tries before fertility clinic.

I'm working on the basis that it makes sense to get both doses done and then I can crack on with TTC, given the risks associated with Covid in pregnancy.

Havent had the vaccine yet (too young
not because I've refused) but planning starting TTC in august and I have read a lot of people either not having periods after it or in some cases having very heavy periods and 14 day cycles. There have also been people who have had heavy post menopausal periods. My mum hasnt had a period for 3 years but has been bleeding 3 weeks on, 1 week off since her vaccine and has had scans etc that can find nothing untoward, she just seems to have jumped back to early menopause

@CameraCoffeeCrochet sorry only just noticed your msg. Mine have all been negative and I keot hoping for positive but not even a thin line. I don't have any symptoms really apart from today I am absolutely knackered. Think that is more to do with my nightshifts at work though!

Loops01 · 11/05/2021 17:43

Thanks @IndiaMay I totally think taking the vaccine is a personal choice and I am sure it is safe. So many things can upset the cycles but I do think the vaccine does. My friend is getting hers today which is roughly around the same time in her cycle as when I had it so it'll be an interesting wee experience! Sorry to hear about your mum having to go through that! I hope ttc in August goes well for you!

Loops01 · 11/05/2021 17:44

@Palavah good idea. I wish it was available before I started. Now I am in it it just makes it feel longer which is horrible.

Passionfruitpizza · 11/05/2021 17:58

Had a 50 day after mine but it was first proper period 10 months pp after a v light one so it could be a coincidence

Well just thought I'd come on and say that it seems I've got my BFP so the vaccine hasn't made af late this month! I'm still going to go ahead with my second jab which is scheduled for July I think, I'd rather be vaccinated and hopefully it will help with travel and making life easier in general. I just want to get back to normal now!!
