Help! Positive CB result faded to just an “evap” line.

I’m driving myself mad. Is it possible for a positive test result to fade or disappear? I got my first bfp on Saturday, a cheapie positive yesterday and decided to do a CB rapid response test this morning which also came out positive. However, it has now faded and looks exactly like an evap line (I’ve had a few of those on my ttc journey!) I’ll post pics of the same test - one pic taken straight after test and the other pic taken just now. I’m not sure how clear it will show up tbh.

My af isn’t technically due until tomorrow so it is early really. But me being a paranoid polly I'm automatically assuming the worst and that I am heading for another chemical. I just don’t know how I feel about the most recent CB test.

I will retest again in the morning. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced a disappearing line like this and if I should read anything into it? Sad

@Gnashaloulou FWIW, that looks like a strong positive to me.

When did id fade away? After a couple of seconds or outside their stated timeframe?

AnonGlitterBomb · 10/05/2021 14:33

That’s a positive OP. My positive CB faded in exactly the same way. I’m due in June Grin

Gnashaloulou · 10/05/2021 14:35

@feliznavidad2 you think? Thank you!

@Bundaberg84 it has gradually faded over about 5 hours or so.

Both those photos are clearly positive!

AnonGlitterBomb · 10/05/2021 14:36

I will try and find pictures of mine

Bundaberg84 · 10/05/2021 14:43

@Gnashaloulou fading over that time is okay, as far as I read. That's why they say the test result is only considered "valid" within the stated time frame. I saw other threads where a negative test turned into a faint positive after a couple of hours, but it's also invalid.

Gnashaloulou · 10/05/2021 14:50

Thanks all. I feel much less stressed about it now.

I have a CB digital that I will probably do tomorrow or the following day and then I shall leave it at that. I'm going to send myself mad if I keep testing and over-analyzing every time.

Thank you!! Flowers

Just a heads up, the digital tests tend to be far less senstive and need a higher hcg concentration to show a positive. So if you'd get a negative tomorrow with the digital one, please don't be disappointed! It might be just a "not positve yet".

Gnashaloulou · 11/05/2021 11:22

Hi ladies, just thought I would pop by and say I did do the digital this morning and got a pregnant 1-2 weeks result!

Still a nervous wreck and probably will be for the next 10 weeks or so, but at least I can assume that yesterday's tests weren't just dodgy evap lines!!

Thank you all for your reassurance xx
